Jennifer is an amazing teacher – she's very flexible and adapts to the needs of the student. She also has a way of making it fun to practice, rather than feeling like a chore. She tries to explain methods in different ways to find the one that resonates best with me. I highly recommend her!

My teaching philosophy is centered around this: you already have a voice, we are just uncovering it. I give my students the tools to uncover what is unique about their instrument, and enable them to become vocal artists, painting sounds and colors with their voices.

I use the principles of classical training and apply them to all genres: rock, jazz, pop, musical theater, folk, and opera. I encourage students to use their imagination and creativity to train their bodies. We are both vocal artists and athletes. I encourage my students to be uninhibited in their ability to respond to music.

About Christina

Hello! I am an experienced singer, teacher, and performer who loves learning with my students! I received my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan in 2016. If you want to learn how to write for an ensemble, you'll need to know a bit about each instrument you write for, their ranges, their techniques and arranging for those instruments. These are what I will provide. Then the student will work on honing his composition skills in lesson and at home and will come to lessons each week with his or her ideas further developed. I am here to encourage composers to celebrate what they write as well as help them develop their own compositional style. I will also share examples from famous composers as well as some of my own work if they're interested.

About Cody

With my two Bachelor's degrees in Music Composition and Technology, I began tutoring students in piano, voice, and composition as it was part of my training. I also have experience writing and editing essays, books, and more for several independent clients. I have experience writing my own books as

"Hi, I've been studying electric mandolin and guitar with Andrew for some time. He is so kind and enthusiastic, and really understands how to teach me at my level. He has been teaching me the deep theory behind improvisation in bluegrass, newgrass, rock, folk...and has an incredible mind full of music, riffs, scales, and chords from all genres. I've gone back and forth from guitar to mando with him, translating the same information onto the different fretboard, building my knowledge and appreciation of music, and I can now improvise confidently while playing out!"

"Fawn is always easy to work with, positive, honest, flexible and dependable. She is compassionate, understanding, easy to talk to, kind, patient and she helped my daughter go from being shy and having low self-esteem and no confidence to being more outgoing and having high self-esteem, building her confidence and helping her develop skills without pressure or harsh judgment. She is easy to communicate with and has exceeded our expectations time and time again. She is a pleasure and it brings tears to my eyes to see my daughter overcome her fears because of Fawn's gentle guidance."
