It is my belief that piano lessons should be accessible to anyone, regardless of personal income. To that end, I strive to provide as affordable a rate as I can to my students. Additionally, I consider it essential to teach music as wholistically as possible. Therefore, I supplement my piano lessons with music theory/composition lessons, so my students can understand not only how to play the notes, but why as well. With practice, you'll learn how to play and describe all music, not just classical piano. To enroll in music theory/composition lessons, simply enroll in my hour-long or longer piano lessons. You may of course also dedicate a full hour or longer to the piano, should you wish to forego the musical theory portion. Music theory and composition lessons are ONLY available one-hour time frames or longer. Let's start your musical journey!
I began studying the piano in my early high school years and instantly fell in love with what I consider the ultimate musical instrument. The more I studied the piano, the more I wanted to learn how music is conceived and put together. Between the act of sitting down at a piano bench to let my fing

My lessons are built-up from a person's natural voice. It is genuine and has much more character than trying to unnaturally mold someone's voice. I teach various techniques with accompanying exercises for both group and solo vocal performances.
I enjoy building confidence in singers across multiple levels of experience, with the final goal of making them proud of their own voice and style.

As a Masters of Music student at the Juilliard School, I continue to gain musical knowledge every day. I strive to pass this along to my students, from basic technique to advanced musical concepts. I have experience teaching privately, providing practice help sessions, and in group classes and orchestra sections through the Tufts Community Music Program. I grew up learning through the Suzuki method, so I encourage learning by ear and emphasize the importance of efficient and organized practice. In a lesson with me, I would focus on learning classical viola technique in order to produce the best juicy and rich viola sound. I encourage the student to choose their repertoire based on their musical preferences, however I always encourage exploration of the classical genre! I teach with the goal of showing my students how to best improve on their own in their individual practice. A good ear, consistent technique, and beautiful, deep, unique violist musicality will all be my focus in my ...

I studied ear training in high school and then in college as a music major. In a private lesson setting it is best to explore ear training through the instrument you are learning but I can teach strict ear training lessons if desired.
I am overjoyed and grateful to say I have been teaching music since 2008. I am a very friendly and fun teacher with a great deal of professionalism and patience. More importantly, I love teaching and playing music with a passion. I play a great variety of instruments and have had the opportunity

As a self-taught pianist, guitarist, and vocalist, I always wondered what it would be like to go back in time and do things differently. Fast forward after 10 years of professional elementary school teaching and 15 years of private instruction and I can honestly say doing things MY way allowed me to become the singer, instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, and musician I am today.
No two musicians learn the same way and I come to you as an educator who wishes to provide you with a unique music education that is true to you and the musician you wish to become!
Half of being an effective educator is being a genuine human being. To your lessons, I aim to bring unparalleled enthusiasm, attention, and purpose. It was in my early stages of music making and learning that I fell in love with music. To provide your students with that same love and fulfillment

I specialize in teaching music theory to people that want to play pop, rock, hip hop, country, and blues music. From Black Sabbath, to Taylor Swift, to Bone Thugs in Harmony, the same set of "rules" are being used. Understanding the classical "rules" allows you to recognize and adapt to the way rock and roll "breaks them," and why that is great.
I am an established performer having played in such bands as BigDamnCrazyWeight, Bring Back Dad and most recently, guitarist for Guadalupe Blue. I studied Music Theory at New Mexico State University with the amazing Dr. Don Hardisty and Composition with Dr. Warner Hutchison. I am passionate about m
Scotty is a excellent teacher.
I've been learning bass from him and he is very knowledgeable in everything from the history of music, theory, techniques and much more.
I've been taking lessons from Scotty for over a year and have learned a lot about theory, form, and style. Had taken lessons from other instructors and felt that I should had been further along after 1 year. One hour lesson time is perfect for me and I always leave wishing I had more time.
Great teacher takes time to cover theory of music, and does hour lessons unlike most teachers in town who do 30min lessons. Have taken lessons from other teachers in the past, and all they do is teach you songs without explaining the reasoning behind it. Have learned more in the last few months then Iâve learn in years with other teachers.
