Lessons with Cindy are self-directed with coaching intended to help the student accomplish his or her personal objectives. She will ask you to provide examples of music that you love so much that you'd be willing to work hard to learn to play it, and you will find yourself working on that music right from the start. Technique is taught in the context of the music: if you need a technique for a particular song, you will learn that technique. And of course once you've mastered a technique it's yours to use on the next song or tune and the next. It's a constant process of enjoying the music and discovering and mastering the technique needed to recreate it in your own playing or singing.
*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons start with a review of the work you've been doing. We might take that song or tune to the next level with a new technique, or we might apply technique you've already learned to a new piece. Every lesson is different, customized to the needs of the student at that moment.

I'm extremely pleased with the highly positive experience my children have in studying with him.
Susanna received her training at State University of New York at Purchase in 1991, where she received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Music. In addition, she attended the University of Denver, Lamont School of Music in 2000 where she received a Masters in Music. She has studied with Sol Grietzer, Karen Dreyfus and Basil Vendryes. In addition, she received her Music Education K-12 Certification in 1995 from Carnegie Mellon University.
As an expert in her field, Susanna looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals. Her teaching style is positive, supportive, patient and constructive, focused on the individual student's needs, and enjoyable. She will work at your pace and cares about each of her students. Susanna will teach you the proper position, technique, how to read music and how to improve your playing. Susanna works with students from ages 7 through adults and believes you are never to old to learn.

I believe that music making should be fun, and I can help your playing be effortless so you can enjoy every moment of playing the instrument.
