While I certainly place emphasis on technical work and mastery, I also want all students to feel comfortable in expressing their individual voice and interests. I believe that it is incredibly important to encourage students to explore a number of creative avenues within music. Therefore, I am very open to having students explore music outside the classical canon in addition to experimenting with improvisation and composition. An additional component of my teaching style is finding unique and interesting ways to keep students motivated and teaching them how to effectively practice and learn on their own.

About Helen

My teaching philosophy is largely centered around the importance of individuality. The “one size fits all” approach is hardly ever adequate--every student has different needs, strengths, and challenges. While I certainly place emphasis on technical work and mastery, I also want all students to feel

Every voice is a unique "living instrument", strongly influenced by so many physical, emotional and psychological factors. In my classes I love to help students exploring their own voice beyond the simple concept of learning a melody and repeating it, showing them how to use their instrument at its full potential of musical expression. I like to teach the technique together with the interpretation, going through every musical style, pop, rock, R&B, soul, country, you name it! I firmly believe that there is something to learn from every genre, and I think that the listening process is an essential step to find our own personal voice. Throughout my career I worked with students of all ages, from 5 to over 60 years old, with different levels of music preparation, from complete amateurs to professional singers.

About Marco

I'm a singer-songwriter, voice teacher and Berklee College of Music alumni. I started my career in Italy, winning national competitions like the Tour Music Fest, and participating to the first edition of the talent show “The X-Factor”. I graduated at the University of Pisa in “Music, Cinema and Th

When I was studying theory in college I remember not having the need to study much for it.I realize that's because I was viewing it from my piano background view and was able to see the elements of music and how they relate to each other easily through my experience with the piano.
In teaching theory I maintain that philosophy.I see theory as an organized system to express the experience of music and not necessarily a strictly academic and theoretical discipline.

About Glafkos

I'm a professional musician and teacher with over 20 years of experience.I feel that music is a beautiful thing in our world, magical at times and can be incredibly exciting, fun and rewarding.A universal language and a powerful tool, that can help us connect with ourselves and each other. I always

Good first lesson with Dave. He's a great communicator and seemed to understand my level of music experience; he knew the right subjects to linger on, and what information he could skip over, confident that I already knew it. I felt like we were able to cover a lot of ground in 45 short minutes.

Are you interested in learning how to write a song? Do you play an instrument or sing and want to take that next step of songwriting seriously?

I've been writing songs for as long as I've been around music, and whether they were good or bad, I never stopped writing. Songwriting for me is as therapeutic as journaling, and over the last 10 years I've taught myself how to craft a song out of my own life experience. So far I've released 2 full-length albums that I've written myself; about my life. (Side-note: you don't have to be a musician to write a song, but it is helpful to know an instrument.)

In our lessons we will start where you are at, whether you're a beginner to writing or have had plenty of experience, I can help you find your voice and write that song you've always dreamt of. In our lesson plan we can also eventually record your song so you can have a professional recording of your own music (whether I play in the recording or you is your choice!) If you have any ...

"Gabbi is an incredibly gifted musician and teaching artist. She was very accommodating with what I needed to accomplish in terms of my goals as a singer. She genuinely cared that I was not only to better myself technically and musically but gave me the mental tools necessary to continue my studies outside of our lessons and onward in my own solo career. Between teaching me proper warm-up exercises and how to physically carry myself while singing and even during day-to-day life, she is incredibly knowledgable on the human voice and all things related. I highly recommend her as a teacher and mentor to anyone who is considering doing so."

"Sean has been FANTASTIC with my 9 y.o. son. I was skeptical about how well online lessons would work for a complete beginner. This clearly isn’t Sean’s first rodeo. He has an excellent system for teaching online by sending annotated music beforehand. I must admit I had to push my son a little to get him to agree to piano lessons. Now he loves playing. He practices everyday on his own without being told and loves to ask me to record videos of him playing to send to his grandparents. I’m so proud of him and so grateful to Sean."
