I teach because I love it: I love seeing a student reach their goals.

I’ve been working with music students for long enough now that I am able to quickly determine what their next best action should be… the action that will enable them to grow & evolve as guitar players. I have a keen sense of ascertaining a student’s skill level, so that I can quickly get them into working on the musicianship skills that will transform their playing. My sessions are efficient: they are very effective, very quickly.

I love working with players of any level... just started out or a seasoned professional.

As a beginner, you can approach the learning process in a way that keeps it fun & exciting while building the techniques & vocabulary that you use every day.
The cool thing about the guitar is that all of the chords & strumming patterns that you learn from day one are the same chords & strumming patterns you’ll use as an intermediate or advanced player. You don’t have to start with super basic ...

My lessons are unique in that I make studying piano enjoyable and beginners start to feel the love of music, and want to succeed. I get beginners {adults or children playing pieces very quickly. Sight-reading and theory are incorporated into beginning lessons {students do not realize they are learning these}. Later theory is taught as a separate part of the lesson. In the 15 years I have taught, most beginning students are playing at a 3rd year level at the end of one year. Intermediate and advanced students learn history of the composers works they are playing, and how the composes' lives affect the interpretation. I teach the technique need for a piece. I do not have my students practicing scales and other rote exercises. My students learn all the technique need as part of the pieces they are working on.

About Keith

I was a combined piano performance and theory major at Texas Christian University. I was fortunate to have studied with some of the best teachers in the world, including Mme. Lili Kraus, Miklos Ivanich and Dr. Stephen Swedish. After college I taught fro several years to mostly grade and middle scho

I love showing other people how to play musical instruments, especially cello! If you're a beginner, I'll get you playing music right away; note-reading, scales, and stuff can come later. If you've been playing for a little while, we can work together to help you learn new skills, new music, and practice techniques that can help you progress quickly while avoiding frustration.

Thomas and Sammy connected right away. Thomas had a terrible experience last year and following that, wouldn't even pick up his cello without proadding and arguing. This afternoon he picked up his cello and started playing the minute he got home from school. Yea! Prayer answered!

I have played the Bass since 2003 and have extensive teaching experience on the instrument. The bass is the foundation of the rhythm section in rock, pop and jazz. I help bass students develop a strong instrumental technique as well as an approach to the important role that the bass plays in a musical ensemble.

Focus on the fundamentals. I will teach students how to read music. They will learn common scales and understand keys to help build a high music IQ. Flexible sessions to help students learn songs they want to play.

I've been teaching guitar for over four years. I've previously been a part of two bands during my formative years and recently have been a session guitar player for four upcoming indie rock, alternative, and R&B/Soul albums.
For children and beginners, I use the Mel Bay publication Children's Guitar Chord Book as well as Hal Leonard's Guitar Method series. I also apply basic music theory that includes learning the Circle of Fifths and basic reading of sheet music.

For intermediate guitar players, I utilize the Hal Leonard Guitar Method series to teach Power Chord Formation and Delivery, Fingerpicking, Pentatonic Scales, Reading Tabulature, and tackling some of classic rock and jazz's favorite tunes.

For guitar lessons at my studio, I leverage Guitar Pro to project and display tabs and play-alongs with ease. For in-home lessons, I use the software for select lessons as we begin song selection and play-alongs.

I can't wait to rock out with you as you find your inner ...

She takes the time to teach my daughter the piece she needed to learn for school, did some slight reading and work on her tone to get her ready for UIL and Solo. My daughter school band made 1s and my daughter made a 1 in solo. Miss Jennifer is a great brass teacher."

"A fantastic cellist with a thirst for continually pushing her own musical knowledge and limits.

Johanna has been a great contributor to many orchestras I have conducted. She continuously seeks to further her knowledge to help make the music come to live and freely shares this knowledge with others around her. She continuously strives to find a perfect balance between technical acuity and musical phrasing/interpretation in her playing. I cannot overemphasize the benefit of her skill in this area, as it results in very technically competent musicians, who are also expressive!

She is friendly, encourages other struggling musicians. She always shows up to rehearsals/concerts early, with a smiling, can do demeanor, and a willingness to help wherever there might be a need.

She is professional and personable, she is always my first recommendation to parents and students looking for 'the right' music teacher."

"As a stage performer whose always wanted to learn how to properly sing, lessons were always on my mind. The decision to pick Rodolfo is one that I don't regret. He does a great job at interacting with students and tries to use real world examples to explain the instrument that we can't see, our vocal chords. This making the learning process much easier. He always comes set and ready with a lesson plan for the session. He also likes to check up on your progress in between session to ensure that you're executing the exercises correctly. Rodolfo is a person that cares about your success and progress. I would highly recommend him to anyone who's looking for vocal coach."

How to Practice Piano When Your Hands, Back, or Arms Hurt

Should you reduce or alter your piano practice if your hands, back, or arms hurt? Here are some guidelines to follow from Rosedale, MD teacher Theresa D...   Practicing piano can be a very enjoyable experience for most people, but what if you are in pain or it is difficult for you to play? If you are learning how to play for the first time or if you just want to keep the music under your fingers, regular piano practice is important. But as you get older your body doesn’t always allo …
