I've been playing piano for over 25 years and teaching piano for over 10. I use a wide variety of piano methods to fit the individual needs of all my students. Students will learn how to properly care for their instrument, how to read music, music theory, instrument technique, practice techniques, ear training (how to play by ear), and repertoire. I even have my own experimental piano courses that I have developed myself. Group piano lessons are also available at a lower cost on Saturdays only.

Hi, I’m Britta! I’ve been playing piano since before I can remember. I picked up guitar as a teen. I have been teaching piano lessons since 2016 and guitar since 2018. I approach music lessons with flexibility. The joy of working one-on-one is that we can adjust the lesson to whatever the student brings to the table each time. Practiced a lot? Excellent! Show me what you can do. Having a difficult time with something? Not a problem; let me help. Feeling fatigued? It’s okay; I understand. We’ll take it a tad easier today. I’m sensitive to my students’ needs, and I’m more than happy to make learning an instrument accessible, whatever is going on.
Generally, we start with a warm-up. Then, we proceed to go over the songs the student has been practicing since last time. I provide feedback and coaching. When we’re ready, we move on to new music and assign it for practice. I’m your guide as the music gets progressively more challenging. When time allows, we have several miscellaneous ...

Dennis is a wonderful teacher. His extensive knowledge of all forms of music comes through in his teaching skills. He is extremely patient and understanding as we work through pieces. I started taking classes as an adult in retirement, with past experience limited to a few chords learned way back in high school. We're now well into number of beautiful classical pieces, I've gained a significant knowledge of music theory, and we've just now starting to tackle the blues !!. I may have eclectic tastes, but Dennis feels very comfortable with it and loves teaching all types of music. I know I'm in the hands of a master musician and teacher."

Are you wondering how to find fun and age-appropriate vocal warm ups for kids? Teaching young voices presents a unique challenge to voice teachers. As singers, our body is our instrument, and we work to develop muscle memory in a way that supports good vocal technique and healthy singing. However, younger students are working with an instrument that is not fully developed. It is unwise to train young voices in the same way we train adult voices, as their physical instrument is going to change in …
