My teaching experience includes students between the ages of 8 and 70. I believe in the individual approach and decide what music books and methods to use and recommend after the first few lessons with the student. Playing the flute is a great skill that lets you appreciate and express music. It also enhances your focus and the quickness of your mind since you think of a few things simultaneously while playing. For fun you can play your favorite song, compose one or play duets with your teacher.

For over more than 20 years I have had many successful students, who have enjoyed playing and studying with me. Teaching is a life-giver for me--I enjoy introducing students to the joys of different musical ideas, concepts, and ways that they can advance on their instrument. Things that I have enjoyed learning and playing over the years, that I can pass on to them to explore and enjoy. I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Music, and have taught as an adjunct on the college level, high school, and privately. On the college level, I have taught clarinet, saxophone, and flute at three colleges, a Woodwind Methods class for five years, developed jazz ensembles, and developed and procured music for woodwind trios and saxophone quartets.

I have played professionally in these settings; jazz, symphonic, pit orchestra, and general business entertainment freelance as a woodwinds specialist.

"Pam is a wonderful flute teacher. While I was studying with her in high school, I developed a love for music and the flute that will stay with me for the rest of my life. She has a keen ability to push her students to excel, while also encouraging them and nurturing their passion for music. It has been several years since I've studied with Pam -- I've since graduated from college and moved to the West Coast -- but the lessons I learned from Pam have stayed with me, and will stay with me for many years to come."

She also has top-notch musical credentials from Berklee College of Music. I highly recommend her."

"Heidi has been an excellent flute teacher for our 14 year old son. We started taking lesson with her about 3 months ago, working on a level 6 solo piece for the All County audition. Heidi uses great techniques and give clear instructions. She goes above and beyond during each lesson, making video recording of her playing and email them to my son for practicing. She also make audio comments over the video recordings that my son has emailed to her between lessons. She's always pleasant to be with and continues to be punctual. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for coaching at any level."
