I NOW TEACH ONLINE LESSONS. I teach according to your individual needs. I only teach in my own studio. I do not travel anymore. I also have time to teach lessons every other week. You may inquire to me about my availability to teach every other week on Saturdays. I help you become successful on piano, violin, cello, viola, bass, guitar, or bass guitar. I help you learn the instrument and learn to read music with my own ideas using fun worksheets and songs you really like to learn how to play. I fill your voids with activities such as practice techniques, sub-lessons, and ear training. I guide you toward proper posture, tone development, and the ability to keep a steady beat. I help you develop your musical independence by tweaking lessons to help you succeed. I help you have fun learning to read music for your instrument using my materia
ls. I believe talent is not a factor in learning. Mastering an instrument is the result of effective instruction and step by step guidance toward foundations and skills. I love to teach private lessons because I believe in spreading the word to make the great gift of playing music available to many. It is an inherited right and gift to enjoy a lifetime of personal satisfaction from playing a musical instrument. I love to help students build confidence and make progress. I help them problem solve by going through problems with them. I teach "how to think" and how to become a life long learner of the instrument. I love the challenge of finding ways to help students become successful at every step of the way. I am excited and enthused to be apart of student progress. I am influenced by many 20th Century performers including Van Cliburn, Oscar Peterson, George Shearing, Erroll Garner, Yudi Menuhin, Issac Stern, Dave Brubeck, and Horowitz among others. I am passionate in my teaching about providing an effective solution to my student's needs. I am pleased to announce my teaching has awarded a cello student a spot at Del Sol music high school for the 2017-2018 school year. this student of mine passed an audition January of 2017 as a result of my teaching. The student worked very hard and followed my instruction very well. Congratulations!! I am also pleased to announce two of my cello students have both passed auditions to play in the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra starting in September 2017, September 2018, and September 2019. They both auditioned during May 2017, May 2018, and May 2019. Congratulations to both of you!!! There is also a viola student of mine who has passed audition for LVYO in May 2019 for the September 2019 season; Congratulations!! I also had a violin student who passed auditions for LVA (Las Vegas Academy) a couple of years ago. I have no connection to these organizations. These students all worked hard and followed my instruction. I can help you learn as well. Recently with the development of "octave" strings, if you have been split between learning violin, viola, or cello; these strings installed on a violin or viola make the instrument sound like a cello. It is really something. They are tuned an octave below, so they sound very low. A lot of cello music will have to be transcribed for owners of these instruments installed with "octave" strings. Videos can be found on YOU TUBE of these instruments played. They are ordinary violins or violas strung up with thicker strings to sound an octave below.
I am a professional educator who works with both children and adults, and has the patience to help them. I am a performer who has over 30 years of public experience in solo playing as well as ensemble work. I have performed at Nordstrom for nine years, and performed at many private functions. I have performed classical as well as jazz music as part as my performance experience. I have taught private lessons for well over 20 years. I'm sorry, as of Summer 2016 I do not travel to student locations. I teach at my studio as well as online. If you are among the many parents who home-school your children, you should consider music lessons for them. There are many benefits of home-schooling, but unfortunately students miss out on specials. Practicing an instrument can make up for that and also teach critical learning habits and personal skills toward learning in general. Give me a try, in my studio or online; I can help you learn.
*** Lesson Details *** I believe in personalizing your approach to the strangeness of the instrument. You need to learn much about posture, and proper tone production within the first year. Method books are not "how to" books. You need a teacher to guide you toward becoming familiar with the instrument. You also need to learn how to listen to the sounds you make as you play. To develop "musical independence" you need to become musically literate, develop tone production skills, and internalize a steady beat. Rhythm and tone are basic concepts that must be mastered to maximize pleasure in playing your instrument. Learning how to problem solve is another skill I teach so you can help yourself toward progress. I believe in using the instrument in daily activities such as playing "Happy Birthday" at family get together. Christmas Songs or Hanukkah Songs can bring much joy during December family parties. A musician in the house brings much joy during holidays and celebrations; and the families are brought closer together. Memories are created and last forever. Playing an instrument is exciting and expresses what can not be said using words. I believe in teaching students based on their strengths, and building upon them. I am excited to help you learn!!
I only teach in my own studio and online. I do not travel anymore.
You can advance quickly if you are taught to listen to yourself and follow my instruction. I will guide you every step of the way to understand how music making works. Music lessons are fun and enjoyable. I am pleased to guide you through your learning every step of the way. My students in Las Vegas have had much success with my teaching and guidance. I will succeed where others fail. You will reap the benefits of my professional instruction. I bring a wealth of teaching experience, teacher training, and professional playing experience to every lesson. Most music store studio instructors have very little or no teacher training. Playing experience does not make one a helpful teacher. Failure to learn "how to" teach along with not earning any teaching credentials will not make anyone an effective music instructor. I have experience teaching children and adults with autism within a variety of functioning ranges. They learn in their own unique style which suits them best. *** Studio Equipment *** Grand Piano 5'1', Digital Piano 88 Keys, Violin, Viola, Bass Guitars ( 5 String Fretless), electric guitar (Fender), Upright Bass 3/4 Size French/German Bows.
*** Specialties *** Suzuki for string instruments. Thompson, Schaum for piano. Blues, Jazz and " Real Book " for jazz piano as well as Frank Mantooth books for chords. I also create materials to suit individual student needs. Classical Piano Volumes.
I hold a Masters Degree in Music from George Mason University.
A native of the Washington DC Metropolitan area, I have performed with the Washington Opera Company, at the Kennedy Center, and Historic Maryland's Adventure Theatre. I have been a vocal teacher in Brooklyn, New York, in addition to coaching students privately. Previously, I taught at the Virginia Institute of the Performing Arts, was Musical Director for The Episcopal Diocese of Virginia's Music and Drama Camp and The Snow Camp Historical Drama Society. I have also taught in Prince William County and Stafford County Virginia Schools and served as a judge for the VTA Middle School One-Act play Competition, VCDA District IX Choral Festi
val, and the Stafford County Choral Society Scholarship competition. In 2008, I served on the production staff as musical director at the Astors' Beechwood Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island.
Proud Member of Actors Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the National Association of Teachers of Singers.
*** Lesson Details *** Not only am I a trained singer, I am also an actor. I understand what it is to communicate and show emotion while singing. Before you can do this, you must also learn healthy singing technique. I will help blend the two.
The first half of each lesson will be dedicated to vocal exercises with the second half to songs I recommend or from your own repertoire. My recommendations may be from a different style of music than you are accustomed to, but I will be working towards helping you sing the style you want to sing.
Every voice is different. As a teacher I want to make sure that my students understand and are comfortable with what they are feeling and hearing. While I am an easy going person, I work very hard to help students find the right path to healthy vocal production.
*** Travel Equipment *** n/a student must have piano in home for use by the teacher
*** Specialties *** Musical Theatre
***please note: I have 3 cats. They do not come into the studio, but if you have allergies, this is possibly a problem.
Very personable and unintimidating to a beginner. Easy to follow her teaching.

Phyllis is the best singing teacher I have ever had. She is completely knowledgeable about technique and personalizes each class for her students. Phyllis is so sweet, and believes that there is a singing voice inside of all of us. Since I have started taking lessons with her, my range has expanded and not only that, I have gained new knowledge about sheet music that I had never heard before. I would highly recommend choosing her as your teacher.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles but I've just recently relocated to the Bay Area. I am a Professional Musician/Songwriter/Vocalist teaching songwriting, voice, and performance technique as well as a combination thereof. I began singing at a very young age for anyone who would listen (so my parents tell me) and began taking music lessons shortly thereafter. I am now a USC graduate and have also studied music privately for over 25 years as well as at the esteemed Vocal Power Institute. I've professionally released several albums and I am grateful to have had my music featured/licensed by Starbucks, NBC, The CW network, NikeWomen.com, and MTV. I've toured extensively playing to audiences across the country and have had the honor of sharing the stage with artists ranging from Conor Oberst, Inara George, Johnette Napolitano, Martha Wain
wright, to Jackson Browne. I have experience teaching both adults and children, and enjoy teaching beginning as well as intermediate to advanced students. In addition to teaching privately, I have experience teaching children through my volunteer work with The Girls Rock Alliance, a non-profit organization that aims to teach young girls about self-confidence and self-expression through music education.
*** Lesson Details *** I am easy-going, friendly and I believe that developing a great student/teacher rapport is the key to making the most out of the time we spend together. The curriculum I utilize is specifically designed to meet the student's individual needs. Initially we'll spend time assessing where you are and where you'd like to be. Most importantly, we'll set goals and create a lesson plan that will allow you to attain them. We'll work on basic techniques (or intermediate to advanced depending on skill level), for example - breath support, vowel placement, posture, relaxation, the fundamentals of song structure and music theory. We'll also work on the psychology of performance and eliminating any unwanted tension that may arise. We'll choose songs to work on that you'll enjoy singing, or analyze the songs you love in order to discover and/or improve upon your own songwriting abilities.
*** Studio Equipment *** Front music studio area w/ guitars, computer with protools, keyboard, microphone, pa system, and seating for parents
*** Travel Equipment *** I can provide a small keyboard and/or guitar
*** Specialties *** My main musical styles that I perform and teach are Pop, Rock, Folk, and Americana/Country. I specialize in creating a lesson plan that suits the needs of each individual student.

The teacher was wonderful. But the platforms connection was poor. Really enjoyed the lesson.
My name is Brandi and I am ready to become your music teacher! Playing the guitar has been my passion for 13 years and counting. As a part of the talented music program throughout my high school years, I decided that I wanted to pursue music as a profession. I attended Southeastern Louisiana University for music performance and focused on the classical guitar as my primary instrument. I have played many gigs ranging from open mic nights, accompanying a choir, classical guitar ensembles consisting of up to 12 people, and my solo recitals. I also play the electric guitar, ukulele and the piano, with recently expanding interests for electronic music and synthesis.
My goal since graduation has been to make teaching lessons my full time occupation. Building up a studio certainly doesn't happen overnight so I have come here to expand my ava
ilability to the internet! As your instructor, I can help you to learn any and all of the things that you want to accomplish on the guitar even if you are a complete beginner. Don't wait to create - we can progress together!
Great feedback from the concert! Now Brandi's been working with me on basic classical - reading two or three lines at a time and going up and down the neck of the guitar with just the sheet music! No Tab Charts!! For me this has always been extremely hard, and probably the hardest musical skill for me overall is reading multiple lines simultaneously. Not great yet but - in quite a short time - have come Much farther than I was and am finally figuring out how to do it. Brandi has been super encouraging and patient and explains every step along the way when I get stuck - even multiple times if needed :)! Playing my normal rock or jazzy stuff with a lot more ease and "know-how" than before. She makes being pushed to your limits not only productive but also enjoyable.

I have a concert gig coming up in the span of a week playing guitar with a big band orchestra doing jazz or band arrangements of various popular songs including a big band arrangement of Play That Funky Music from the 70's. In other words not the easiest stuff to be playing :)! First lesson with Brandi and she cleared up all the trouble spots, tricky rythms and chord changes easily in an hour. She explains musical complexities clearly, knows what she's doing and at the same time makes it easy to understand and execute. I had read about her background in classical and knew she had to be good but was genuinely impressed with how well she understood jazz and funk styles better than I do. ( And I'm 28, have been playing since age 12 and performing publicly in multiple settings since 13) Great personality, a lot of fun to work with, and incredibly knowledgeable! Absolutely recommend!

Hello future piano player! I have been a lover of all things piano since 2001. I first started when my grandmother paid for me to take lessons at the age of 9. My teacher Ms. Cynthia was the sweetest and most patient teacher I've ever had and she taught me how to play at an accelerated pace. We started with the basics from understanding the 12 notes on the piano, to learning about scales, to playing chords, all the way to learning how to play my favorite songs by ear.
19 years later, I teach students how to play and I love every bit of it! I've performed in churches, for artists, at open mics, for weddings, and pretty much any place you think of. Piano has been a great outlet for me throughout the years and it continues to be daily. I realize that everyone learns differently, so the first two lessons will be focused on developing a cust
omized learning plan. This helps students reach their highest potential in a way that is comfortable for them.
When I'm not teaching piano I provide individual and group therapy to people with autism and provide support to their families. This has truly allowed me to feel comfortable in different settings with a diverse population of students. In addition, I also received my Masters in Social Work from Columbia University in 2016 and now work as a part time Social Worker in Los Angeles.
I love the excitement that teaching gives me. There's something special about watching a person grow musically and seeing them experience the joy of playing piano!
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions that you may have! I'm a quick responder. I look forward to your success!
Keven really went above and beyond to teach me how to play. I went from not knowing how to play at all to being able to deconstruct my favorite songs and play them for my friends. I would def recommend Keven to anyone who wants someone who makes learning fun and easy!
"I'm in my third year with Mike. I can't rave enough about him and his patient, excellent teaching style. This instrument is the first I've ever tried to l
earn, and at a late point in life. Mike has helped me make great progress. I enjoy every minute."
"My daughter has been learning Piano from Priscilla for about 5 months now and it has been going great so far. She is a great teacher and works really well
with kids. Kripa has gone a long way in her piano lessons after she started working with Priscilla and I would recommend her to any parent that would like to start their kids off with the piano."
"Colin is an experienced music producer and very knowledgeable in the ins and outs of pro-tools. Our lessons were super helpful. Pro tools was very dauntin
g to learn and he knew just how to break it down. I went in really not knowing much at all and with our time together I'm now confident to make my own recordings sound great!"
"Although my son has an attention deficit problem and some other learning disabilities, Theresa is very patient and is an effective teacher- I am pleasantl
y surprised by my son's progress."
"Professional advice. Very good first lesson"
"Jesse is a great teacher. He is very patient and caring. He taught my daughter at her pace. He tried using different methods to help my daughter to com
prehend quicker and easier. I came there 10 minutes early. He started the lesson immediately. Also at the end of the lesson, he allowed parent time to discuss any concern I might have. We like Jesse a lot!"
"Fawn is the real deal."
"Encouraging, knowledgeable, and experienced bass and guitar teacher who teaches what you need along with what you want."
"Michael is kind and a great teacher. His enthusiasm is contagious. I'm so glad we got lessons for my daughter."
