This is my first time taking any kind of vocal lessons so I was very nervous. Joseph made me feel very comfortable and really works on what I want to improve on. He is encouraging and very supportive of my ambitious singing goals. I just purchased another month's worth of lessons. Would definitely recommend.

I place a heavy emphasis on not just playing but understanding the music. Understanding what you're playing is a key difference between an amateur and a professional musician.

Music is all about relationships and patterns. The more patterns and relationships you learn to readily recognize and identify the more affluent you become in your musical mastery.

About Jacob

Hi, my name is Jacob. I have been teaching music lessons for a living for over 10 years. I graduated with my Ba. in music composition from the University of Oregon in 2008. I play and teach all styles of music including classical, jazz, rock, folk, and other pop styles. I place a big emphasis o

Theresa is most excellent. There's no question that she knows music and is an accomplished musician, but the real trick is being able to share that talent with a saugsage-fingered doob such as myself. And make it seem a reasonable proposition, something you could do. She has an innate style of instruction that is at once comforting and challenging, setting the bar ever higher while giving enough encouragement that you want to do better. My highest recommendation.

"My 10-year-old has been taking voice lessons with Meghan for a year now, and she looks forward to every lesson! She is patient and great with kids. I was able to observe some of the lessons and I thought Meghan was extremely knowledgeable, she gave constructive feedback, and played to my daughter's strengths and natural abilities. My daughter can sing much higher than she could before, and her confidence has really blossomed! I would highly recommend lessons with Meghan!"

"Having Brian as my piano instructor really improved my technique in piano and my musicality. I learned a lot from him because he is very thorough with his teaching and makes sure I understand my mistakes in order for myself to improve. He's very encouraging and that really is meaningful to a student like me, who's very shy and unconfident with my playing, to strive to do better. I can also tell he's very passionate about music and he's very knowledgeable in this subject. He makes piano lessons enjoyable and motivates me to continue learning more about music."

5 Tips for Smooth and Efficient Guitar Chord Transitions

Beginning guitar lessons is an exciting thing - learning the notes, building your first chord, and of course, playing your first song.  However, it's not all sunshine and roses.  Learning to play takes commitment, practice and the motivation to get over some common beginner hurdles.  First, the painful process of building calluses can drive many to stop practicing.  Second, there's always that awkward stage of learning to seamlessly transition to different chords.  You know the drill -  pr …
