She’s very helpful in many different ways. Whenever my son is doubting his ability and skill, she explains very clearly that he is good and builds the confidence in him. She’s very detail oriented and pays attention to very important basic skills like finger placement and body positioning. She provides great suggestions for practicing at home what she has taught. Very knowledgeable and patient. I highly recommend her.
Miriam
Lorin was absolutely awesome. She took time to make my daughter feel comfortable and gave her the confidence since she needed in order for her to be the best she can be. She provided tips along the hour sessions and things to work on until the next time. We made an excellent decision and she is excited for the next visit.

She is a great tutor because she helps you figure out how you can fix your problem and perfects it.

Strong instrumental playing begins with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of music and the simple act of making a sound from the instrument. Students learn to play music by ear first, and are later introduced to music notation. More advanced lessons emphasize sight-reading, expression, and improvisation.

A woodwind player since age 10, Thomas has experience as a performer and teacher. His previous education has included methodology classes on teaching specific instruments, and he is available to teach beginning flute lessons.

About Thomas

Piano, woodwinds, trumpet, composition Chords, sight-reading, theory, jazz, classical, and pop No one ever regrets learning an instrument… yet many grow old wishing they had taken music lessons! A talent they’ll be able to develop their entire life, your children will thank you for giving them

So incredibly patient and knowledgeable!
Eric D.
The first lesson was successful. My particular background in piano is unique, and my needs are atypical as well. I thought Thomas assessed my abilities, lack of abilities, and goals well and quickly. He started me on a different perspective on looking at music (reading the staff) that seems very helpful. I'm encouraged.

"I found Kelly to be a total professional in teaching. Prompt, educated and well versed in the principals of the flute.
She also was competent in the composition I had requested insight on, the Poulenc Sonata for flute, which is not an easy piece to play.
If you are intermediate to early advanced you will not go wrong or left wanting.
Highly recommend for beginner to early advanced level teaching."

"My 9 year old granddaughter joined her school band to play flute with no prior experience in either endeavor. The band instructor has little time to help the children individually and so my granddaughter struggled on her own. We found Lily and after only 3 lessons my granddaughter's abiity to read music and play the flute has increased dramatically. Lily's teaching style is very matter of fact, patient and encouraging. My granddaughter looks forward to her lessons and to spending time with Lily. We feels Lily is a wonderful teacher and a real inspiration to our blossoming flutist."

"My 12 year old daughter has been taking flute lessons for one year with Heidi and she loves her and has learned so much. The progress she has made in the year is amazing. Heidi has a wonderful demeanor with her, she is patient yet challenges her. She tailors her lessons to what she is doing in her middle school bands and also uses outside resources. Heidi is clearly a very accomplished musician and her passion and enthusiasm for the flute is passed on to her students. This is definitely a quality to have in a teacher for this age group. The online class is so convenient and Heidi is very tech savvy and assists myself and my daughter in this area as well when needed. Heidi is very dependable and flexible if a lesson has to be changed. I highly recommend Heidi as a flute teacher, we couldn't be happier with our experience with her."
