My goal as a flute teacher is to give each student a very well rounded and thorough understanding of the instrument. Lessons will be tailored to each student and will include the following: knowledge of instrument care/maintenance, tone production, technique (scales, etudes, etc), musicality, music theory, and a variety of repertoire from classical to pop.
I am so glad you’re here!
The music lessons for young children are full of fun, interactive activities with iPads apps and traditional methods that not only help develop a strong musical foundation and build essential life skills, but offer a unique bonding experience for you and your child.
Discover for yourself why families love my innovative music lessons for kids.
YES! Music Matters!
The curriculum is built on research that proves MUSIC MATTERS. Music affects virtually every aspect of development and when young children are consistently engaged by music during the “musical window” they benefit at many levels.
What about private lessons?
Do I believe in private lessons? You bet! But I know from experience that private lessons are most valuable for older kids who have the ability to concentrate in a one-to-one setti
With this Private setting you will have a solid foundation in keyboard skills and music theory and typically excel quickly in their continued music education and when learning other instruments. The education and experiences a child has in my music program sets them up for success with private instruction.
Builds spatial-temporal reasoning skills critical for greater success in math and science studies.
Music students out-perform non-music students on achievement tests in reading and math.
Music students receive more academic honors and awards than non-music students.
Develops social and emotional skills including the ability to relate to others and better express ideas, and less likely to have behavior/discipline problems.
I offer up to 2 recitals a year so that you can perform everything you know.
Feel free to reach out and let's setup some lessons.
George, was very patient, kind, and seem very knowledgeable. He seems to understand the pedagogy of teaching to kids and realize they all learn differently. I personally think he went above and beyond for my Son first class and for our first introduction. He offered a more modern approach method of teaching music and Piano to my son who so far seem more receptive in learning and practicing. Will se where that take us but I am very please so far.

George is totally passionate about teaching. He encourages the kids to practice and do their best. He has great knowledge and understanding of music theory. He is pleasant, easy going and works really well with kids. Overall really good teacher. Recommend!
My students excel in everything they do because of the techniques we learn that incorporate skills to strengthen learning in subjects including: math, science, languages, reading, writing, creativity and many more life long skills. I challenge my students and encourage them to have fun most of all in pursuing their passions for music.
I am a passionate educator. I own a music school in Oceanside, California. I received my music degree from Berklee College of Music. All of my students go on to be successful performers and learners in all fields. I have had students from the age of 3-85 years old. I am a professional performer and instructor. I guarantee to make it my goal to help each student reach their maximum potential.
I have taught flute lessons for 20 years. My students study either in my studio at my home(which is decorated in a fun pink Victorian style) or online. Every year we have mini recitals at my home where students showcase works in progress and we have a party. Then at the end of the year, we have a fun formal recital at a church and everyone gets dressed up and shows off a piece. My students often hold first chairs at their schools and do well on chair auditions.
I have taught flute to children and adults for about 20 years. During that time, I have continued to develop as a flutist by taking my own lessons with professional symphony players and by playing principal flute in a community orchestra. I strongly believe in positive reinforcement and applauding my students as they make strides. You may find my profile on Linked in, and Elizabeth Pickens, flute instructor on Facebook. I also have a website fluteteacher.net which I encourage you to visit.
A great teacher for the starting or intermediate flute student. Lessons are held in her house. Many opportunities are provided for playing competitively or concerts around Scottsdale.

As an adult student I appreciate Elizabeth's attention to so much more than just the notes on a page. She is a terrific encourager, and an especially good problem solver for people like me who have a stream of questions about the instrument, its place in music and history, and music theory. I recommend her for students who are beginning as youngsters and for others who choose to learn to play the flute at any stage in life because she believes that music enhances life.
I have over 14 year of experience with flute preference and over 8 years of experience teaching students of all ages and levels. Many of my students have been excepted into honor orchestras and have been excepted to music schools such as: Cal State Long Beach, Biola University and Indiana University. My students gain a strong foundation in flute performance and a solid back round in theory. I specialize in classical music and I use a variety of books and exercises, tailored to each student.
I am a professional flutist and flute instructor. I currently hold the position of principal flutist of the Dana Point Symphony, have many years of recording experience, performed internationally, and have been privately teaching students of all ages and levels for over seven years.
My students can expect to gain a strong foundation in flute performance, including preparation for recitals and auditions. My students also develop an appreciation of great music and a solid background in theory. They have gone on to become great flute players, and have been accepted into excellent music schools, including the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal State Long Beach, Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, and Biola University Conservatory of Music.
I believe in inspiring lifelong lessons that help students achieve self-discipline,
creativity, professionalism and assist them in accomplishing their goals.
James is an amazing teacher! He is extremely patient and thorough. In addition to helping you with your playing, he helps you with theory as well. I learned more from him in one year than my past teacher in three. Because of him, I was able to get into my top choice school for music with a large scholarship.

Steven is a very good instructor. He has a wonderful personality. He!s firm, knowledgeable, and knows how to encourage the student to work hard. My son has learned a lot from him in a short period of time as a beginner. I’d definitely recommend Steven.

I am a private music instructor specializing in woodwind instruments looking to take on clarinet, flute and saxophone students in the Orange County area!
My lessons consist of a well balanced coverage of exercises (scales, note patterns, etudes, duets, major repertoire, etc) geared towards building a solid foundation in playing technique. This allows each student to be accurate and expressive with a sense of ease in their playing! Students of the studio are also thrown into the world of music! They are strongly encouraged to attend concerts, listen to music regularly, and attend masterclasses. The goal is not just to learn an instrument, but to also develop a life-long love and appreciation for music!
I am very proud to say that my students soar through their band and orchestra programs in school and obtain a sound quality/sense of musicality way beyond their grade level! The majority of my students excel past their school music programs! They join youth/honor bands ...
I believe that everyone has the ability to enjoy and be expressive on an instrument. It is miss instruction and a lack of passion in music education that allows students to become frustrated and bored, ultimately pushing them to quit their instruments.
My goal as a music educator is not only to teach the mechanics of an instrument, but to also inspire a life-long passion for music. Therefore I make a point to encourage students to explore all the music there is to be had in their surrounding environment! This includes attending concerts, listening to great recordings and savoring all the music that our modern-day media has to offer! I am proud to say that the majority of my students develop a great interest in music, fueling them to push past their difficulties and achieve a high standard of musical performance!
With a mission in co
nstant musical exploration I teach a thorough curriculum of scales, exercises, duets and standard solo repertoire pieces. Surrounding all this is a foundation in music theory. This pedagogical study will enable a fun and easy experience when students pick up their instruments to perform music! In addition to this private study I strongly encourage my students to reach out for extra-curricular musical activities outside their school music programs. This includes pursuing honor bands/orchestras, chamber music, music competitions and effective musical examinations such as Certificate of Merit. I believe a constant setting and achieving of goals is the foundation of growth in anything we do and music is no exception.
I took one lesson from another teacher who was unreliable and fumbled around explaining things. After my first lesson with Carter I realized he knows his stuff and knows how teach. He’s a real teacher. I am excited now to learn . Thank you
My name is Xiao Liu, you can call me Amelie. I am a music educator/flute performer just graduated from Boston University school of music in January.
I am offering Beginner/ Intermedia/ Advance Flute private lesson. And also Beginner music theory lesson.
I majored in flute performance in my undergraduate. I had 6 years of teaching experience in private flute studio and general music class. My students involving in many different kinds of musical performance, including solo music playing, chamber, school band and also self-recorded video making performances(One man band, pop music video making.)
My teaching philosophy is student-centered teaching. Firstly, I will encourage my students to think about their goal for the playing(Like achieve level 5 certificate of ABRSM exam, playing in the local orchestra, having fun for playing pop music), and I will help them to achieve what they want.
If you are interested in learning to play flute/ want to improve your flute ...
I am a classically trained flutist who working as a freelance musician and flute teacher in the Boston area. I studied with previous Boston Symphony Orchestra solo piccoloist and flutist Geralyn Coticone and gained my Master’s degree at Boston University.
Flute students can expect to improve week to week with their flute playing technique including breathing, embouchure, articulations, vibrato and understand of music.
My teaching philosophy is a student-centered method. I encourage students 1. Set up their own goal of playing (such as learning a new song, audition for a spot in the youth orchestra, pass the level 3 ABRSM/ LCM Exam, improving the playing in the school band, making self-recorded music performance video, etc.) 2. Help them achieve their goal and play the flute with joy, confidence, and expression.

""My daughter started flute lessons with Carter 4 years ago, and it has been an immensely positive experience. Carter is very knowledgeable and professiona
l. He strikes exactly the right balance between encouraging my daughter and challenging her. As a consequence, she has gone from a beginner to a very proficient player in a children's orchestra. Carter also helps his students to enlarge their musical activity by giving concerts, joining ensemble groups and listening to other musicians. I would highly recommend him as a teacher to either beginners or more advanced players.""
