Rhonda F.

Rochester, NY

About Rhonda

I started taking piano lessons in the first grade from a teacher who graduated from Eastman School of Music. I later won a scholarship to Eastman School of Music as a classical pianist. I have been teaching for 40 years and have performed in Europe and won First Place Piano Competition in New York with 200 of the best pianists in the nation performing. I wanted to quit in the 5th grade but my mother told me I was to young to make that decision for myself and she would not hear of it!
Music is now like the air that I breathe. I cannot live without it! Thanks mom for being smarter than me. Play
ing the piano should be fun at any cost. I let students play many styles of music until they find the style that calls them.
For young children I recommend the parent sit in with the lesson so the parent can help with the practicing at home. They need the extra support when starting piano lessons.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are and should be a fun experience. I teach bits and pieces of college theory to students so they can play the whole keyboard and not just in the middle. Its nice to get students young before they develops bad habits. Piano keys should be played with the fingers and not moving the wrists. Bad habits are hard to break. My children students play like a pro, even if it is only one piece.
Through me, kids learn to love music.
I start lessons at age 4 years old to 99. Please call today to book lessons!

"Learn a little but learn it well" ~Ben Franklin

*** Specialties ***
Traditional Classical and theory. I also get students ready for competitions and scholarships. I will teach any style that will ignite the flame in your child or an adult to love music!
I specialize in children.

Fabulous Piano Teacher

I took lessons for 5 years and I play better than I ever dreamed. I enjoyed the lessons and understood the teaching with ease. Expect to have great lessons with your head spinning with tons of information after each lesson from this gifted teacher. Very enjoyable and rewarding experience to say the least. I never again found such a great teacher since taking with Rhonda. I was heartbroken when she moved.

I was sooo nervous at first because I just didn't know what to expect from private voice lessons. Beverly made me feel comfortable! I was never afraid to make a mistake because the way she corrected me was in a loving way. Corrections were not a bad thing in her class. Corrections were a great thing and it helped me to become a better singer. I have improved in my confidence and technique because of the training style of Beverly. I will always recommend her! She is GREAT!

Chris M.

Rochester, NY

About Chris

Hi! I am a recent graduate of Marywood University where I graduated with a degree in Music Therapy. I am currently an music therapy intern at BOCES and have significant current/past experience with children, adults and elderly who have disabilities.

I started taking snare drum lessons when I was 9 years old. Soon, I was taking drumset lessons and participating in my high school music program. Graduating from the music program at Marywood University gave me significant knowledge in the field of percussion/drum-set. Classically trained, I was taught over the course of four years on Mari
mba, Timpani, Snare drum and Drumset.

I have also served as a worship leader at Parker Hill Community Church in Scranton, PA where I played drumset to Christian Rock songs. This experience gave me the opportunity to lead and play with a rock band.

My previous experience was mostly with kids/young adults ranging from ages 8-22 but am open to other ages as well! If you are interested in either learning to learn some Rock-and-Roll beats on the drumset or learn how to play Solo Marimba please feel free to contact me!
