Fingers or a pick? Why did you you choose electric bass over the guitar? I’ll help you understand the role of a bass guitar and show you basic techniques to those catchy fills that have been remembered for decades.
Beginner level: technique and positioning is paramount. I prefer to use fingers over a pick to begin with but it is purely your choice. I will start from one position (left hand) and work with the right amount of finger strength (both hands), timing of notes, and coordination. A plethora of popular songs can be played in just one spot on the fret!
Next, I will incorporate some simple theory and show you how to move around the fretboard comfortably by shifting or sliding and really emphasize cooperation with the right hand. You want to make those notes shine and “mean it”. You are the band’s “anchor” and you Must listen to your bandmates (even if you are just jamming to your favorite songs).
My goal is to make you feel comfortable in your role and get the ...

The drum set is primarily an ensemble instrument, and I believe it should be studied as such.
My approach focuses mainly on strong fundamentals of playing, particularly on solid time, feel, touch and sound: concepts that are essential for playing music with other people to create meaningful music.
I like to tailor a syllabus for each student in accordance with their own preferences. I want my students to be equally inspired by drumming material in the context of music they enjoy but also to point them towards fundamentals of the instrument that are the foundations for all styles.
Having graduated from Berklee College of Music, Timur arrived in NYC in 2008 with a set of drums, a pair of running shoes and a handful of books on meditation, he set about collaborating with as many people as possible. Highlights include playing pop music with Grammy winners and nominees at Flux

In the time that I met with Chau, I learned so much. I normally don't feel very comfortable with strangers, especially when I'm in a position to mess up, but with Chau I felt totally accepted and successful. We became fast friends, and I enjoyed every lesson we had together. Thanks to the instruction from Chau I discovered that I was capable of things I had only imagined doing. When I got to school this fall my vocal instructor was very impressed with a voice that I didn't have before I met Chau. I owe any success and vocal quality I have to Chau; without her I don't think I would have the vocal confidence that I have now. Chau has a unique talent for taking even the most unlikely voices and people, and helping them discover just what they are capable of. I really never though that I would be able to sing anywhere or, feel OK singing, anywhere but in my shower, however when Chau came into my life I feel like a different me came out. I am so thankful that I met Chau, she is truly one of the most talented and kind people I have ever met; she is upfront and honest because she really cares and isn't just looking to make a buck. If you're looking for a vocal instructor that really cares about helping you develop as a person and as a vocalist, Chau is definitely worth meeting."

Is that a fiddle... or a violin? It's a common question, and one that baffles many beginner musicians. So what's the answer? When it comes to the actual instrument, there actually aren't any differences. What distinguishes a violin from a fiddle is what kind of music you're playing with it. A musician playing folk, bluegrass or country, for example, would most likely refer to their instrument as a fiddle; those who play other genres (jazz, classical, etc.) typically call theirs a violin. …
