Corey was a great instructor for my 4th grader. We wanted him to keep up with his clarinet lessons over Summer break. My son gets very easily frustrated when he struggles and Corey handled it all very well, always giving a new suggestion on what he could do to improve. In just 5 short lessons, Corey helped my son with his embouchure, finger placement, tounging and my son was finally able to play his B and C notes. That had really been holding him back from playing lots of music. Highly recommended!

Mr. Ames has been one of my favorite teachers during my time at LA. He is always willing to listen and help his students if they go to him. He is passionate about teaching, his main goal is to help his students succeed in whatever way he can. He always tries to make a fun and worthwhile experience everyone should appreciate the great teacher that he is.

Mr. Ames is an amazing teacher! He helped me land a spot in the all district band my freshman year in high school and constantly pushed me to strive and be my best. I highly recommend him for anyone that is looking to have fun and be a better clarinet player.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile.

I have taught clarinet lessons to children from ages 10-18 for 8 years. I take care to pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of each child, and I design lesson plans for each student using those observations.

During the lesson, I cater my teaching techniques to the skill level and personality of each student. I also take notes on a Google Doc file detailing what we work on and what the student should practice for the future. The Doc link is sent to parents and to the student, if applicable.

I have a Bachelors degree in Music Education and Music Composition from the University of Georgia. My clarinet professor, Dr. D. Ray McClellan, is a triple Juilliard graduate, and I have studied with him for 6 years.

I have completed Levels I and II of Orff-Schulwerk teacher training, meaning that I specialize in teaching music through movement, drama, and speech. I want each student to have an active and fun music making ...

All lessons are catered to the individual's needs and goals! We can go over the very beginning steps for the first time you pick up the clarinet all the way to refining your college audition. Clarinet history and terminology will be incorporated in lessons as the student is ready for it. Music theory will be incorporated for older students as they become ready to digest it and observe the bigger picture. Composition and arranging can be part of the learning experience if students express interest.

"I was Mark's student for 2 years in Venezuela. He is an excellent musician and clarinetist, with a high artistic level. I particularly liked his classes because he always explained how to play correctly, helped me to solve technical problems and how to play always with musicality. He really helped me to grow up as a musician and as a person, and I know that what he taught me in a short time, will last for all the years of my career"

"Before beginning lessons with Carter, playing clarinet was something that I dreaded to do to say the least. Once I started lessons I experienced exponential growth in my playing abilities and began to enjoy the instrument. Fast forward 6 years, because of the help of Carter, I have the opportunity to perform in prestigious youth groups, and have experiences that I wouldn't have had otherwise. Because of my lessons I have developed a love for playing clarinet and music that I wouldn't have had without Carter. -Matthew 6 years"

"David has taught with my son and myself. I recently retired and decided to return to playing music. I have not played since college. We constructed a program that suited my schedule and desire to return to clarinet and also start the soprano sax. David is very knowledgeable and has help[ed me get back into music. He helped me upgrade my clarinet and select a good intermediate soprano sax. He also introduced me to several web tools and different books to advance my skills. I enjoy my lessons with David ad look forward to developing my skills. I highly recommend him to all levels of musicians."

"Corinne is an absolutely wonderful instructor! I took private lessons with her in middle school, and she not only gave me the skills to master several auditions but refined my techniques and reformed bad habits that I had acquired throughout my clarinet “career”. She enabled me to build strong practice exercises that worked specifically for me after observing how I worked as a clarinetist. Our relationship continued as I moved into high school concert and marching band as she was our clarinet instructor for various workshops and sessions. She helped me learn to lead and instruct others in my section in the role of section leader. My growth continued (even after my private lessons ended) as she learned my strengths and weaknesses in an individual and group setting. Without Corinne, I definitely would not have the accolades and/or titles in the realm of music that I have now. As an instructor, Corinne doesn’t simply care about the short term goals or specific event to which you may come to her for assistance, but she cares about the musician you will be and techniques you will possess in the long term. She will work with you to find the best foundation upon which you can build up skills, a fine repertoire, and wonderful musicianship. I have had the pleasure of working with Corinne for over 5 years now in various settings, and I can say without a doubt that there is no one better for any clarinet instruction you may need!"
