Learn saxophone from a professional with a wide variety of experience. Jazz, classical, theatre, +!
I have had many successful students in my 10 years teaching saxophone! I always gear lessons toward the individual student's musical goals and interests and I am constantly reinforcing good technique and practice habits. My favorite genre to teach is jazz, but I can help you with classical and pop music, too!
About Michael H.

I have been performing and teaching music professionally for 10 years in a variety of settings. I received my bachelor's degree in music education and jazz studies from Western Michigan University and my master's in jazz studies from Temple University in Philadelphia. My passion is jazz saxophone, and I have also played flute and clarinet in classical ensembles and theatre productions like West Side Story, Footloose and Shrek the Musical. I compose and arrange music for my own bands, and I have played pop/rock concerts as well. I am confident that I am prepared to guide you toward any style of music you could want to learn. I can't wait to work with you!

Michael has been an amazingly helpful instructor. Super patient and willing to work with you at any pace you're comfortable with! Also very fair and flexible in scheduling I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn or get back into the saxophone like I did!

Michael is a great instructor! I came to his course with some experience from college courses, but Michael excelled for intermediate level saxophonist! He works with me to find the best technique and improv exercises and is flexible in answering all of my questions! (My time with him is best spent with 1 hr long lessons too)

Michael is awesome. Besides sounding amazing, he's also very communicative and supportive/encouraging. He shared a ton of resources and adjusted lesson plans according to my level, meeting me where I'm at. I won't hesitate to recommend him to anyone who's looking for a reliable, professional, and positive instructor to get to that next level in your playing!
