Thanks for letting me provide a reference for Alex. I have taken alto sax lessons from him over the years, starting about 4-5 years ago. Alex is a great musician and teacher. Each lesson was consistently structured for: sound quality and listening, technical work and reading, duets, and improvisation. Rather than heavy music theory, he would instead provide routines to reinforce these concepts. He was always patient, and emphasized what I did well, with subtle redirection to correct problems. I definitely improved under his guidance and teaching.

The only reason I stopped seeing him was that my job became very demanding, and I could not devote enough time to practice and justify the time and cost of lessons. But even when I showed up unprepared, he was understanding and flexible to work with me.

If it would have been possible to have Alex come to me, I would have welcomed that.

Laura has a great sense of humor, which comes in handy when I am not doing as well as I would like. She is a very patient teacher, as well as creative in her teaching strategies. When I was taking lessons with her she was studying music at SDSU and utilized her fresh education in our sessions. Also, her at home studio serves as a relaxing setting, which was just my style.

I really enjoy going to my lessons. Laura is very patient, with great knowledge and a great personality. I am a 58 years old violin student and I want to learn more about the violin so that I can play at my Church. Her classes are fantastic and I know I will be playing in front of the congregation soon. I highly recommend her style whether you are a child, young adult or older like me. IT IS FUN!!

I have been playing clarinet for twelve years and have taught students of all ages and levels. In my lessons we will work on basic fundamental techniques (breathing, technique, etc) while also learning pieces that you can bring home and play for your family. I believe playing the clarinet is something that gives people the ability to increase their creativity level, confidence, and individual expression which is important to our daily lives. I want my students to be able to grow as individuals and learn to have fun with music through playing the clarinet!

"Corey was a great instructor for my 4th grader. We wanted him to keep up with his clarinet lessons over Summer break. My son gets very easily frustrated when he struggles and Corey handled it all very well, always giving a new suggestion on what he could do to improve. In just 5 short lessons, Corey helped my son with his embouchure, finger placement, tounging and my son was finally able to play his B and C notes. That had really been holding him back from playing lots of music. Highly recommended!"

"Great teacher

My daughter has been studying with Dimitry for almost a year now, and I have seen incredible improvement in her skill on clarinet. Not only has Dimitry improved her technique, but he has also taught her a lot of music theory, improved her musicality, and given her lots of tips on clarinet and reed care. I would strongly recommend Dimitry to anyone searching for an excellent clarinet teacher."

"I've been with Mikaela for the past 2 to 3 years, and she's been a wonderful instructor since. I started learning with her after playing the clarinet for about 3 years already- my skills on the clarinet have definitely improved tremendously, and the lessons have given me an edge in all my musical experiences. In addition to being a skillful clarinetist and teacher, she's also very supportive, caring, flexible schedule-wise, and has helped me grow my love for playing and music in general. She has encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and try new, scary things (auditions, competitions, etc) that have definitely helped me grow as a musician and a person. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a boost in skill, a great teacher, and a wonderful experience. :)"
