Bethany is extremely nice and fun. She seems extremely knowledgeable, having a ton of experience teaching. My first lesson was a good amount of information, but not overwhelming. It is a true joy to have a teacher that is incredibly passionate about music and teaching others!!! I highly recommend Bethany for anyone looking to start playing piano.

I needed a voice coach to help me with the mechanics of singing. Bethany gave me advice on proper breathing, warm ups and vocal exercises, dietary do's and don'ts, etc. Her knowledge and experience helped me tremendously. I highly recommend Bethany.
Anastasiya N. currently lives in Minneapolis where she just completed her first year of Doctorate Degree in Clarinet Performance at the University of Minnesota. Prior to that, Anastasiya N. studied at Grand Valley State University, MI on a full scholarship while pursuing her Bachelor Degree and received her Masters from the U of Minnesota. From early age and on she was exposed to music from her dad and that early environment helped her to form as an individual, a musician and clarinetist.
I encourage my students to get exposed to music as early as they can. Pursuing anything professionally does not make it less fun and exciting. Everyone can chose how much they can learn. I'm ready to provide any additional help with music practice, theory, ear-training if I see a student is interested and motivated to learn.
Ana is quite understanding which I feel is very important for someone who is totally a beginner in clarinet. She is teaching me from scratch and is working with me to overcome my disability-related challenges in learning the instrument.
My son had a wonderful lesson and was well prepared for his exam

Our son first time playing bassoon. Base on my son experience, he find Joshua to be very nice, patients, and explains a lot of information. It help him understand about the instrument and the sound when he play. He do have a sense of humor which help my son to have fun and be more comfortable. He also teaches other instruments, too. Highly recommended to everyone!!!!

I've been teaching clarinet since 2012 and been playing woodwinds for over 10 years. Embouchure, fingering, sight-reading, posture, and tone quality are some of the topics I cover.
Tia graduated from Dordt College in 2014 with a BA in Music Performance and Pedagogy. An avid vocalist and single-reed woodwind player, she has been studying music for over 15 years with a variety of teachers, and has experience in the Jazz, Musical Theatre, Praise, and Classical styles. Tia has done well at state-level competitions and honor bands/choirs for both single-reeds and voice from middle school through college, whether for NATS or WMEA. Each lesson is tailored to the individual student's goals and needs, and each lesson combines both physical technique and imaginative style/performance to create a balanced musician with a deep understanding and love for the art form.
I specialize in trad jazz and swing. I don’t teach THE INSTRUMENT - you can get that from others; I teach THE MUSIC. I can offer you something you won’t get elsewhere: an understanding of the role the clarinet and sax play in a trad or swing band. How do you choose what notes to play in the ensembles and on your solo? Whether you've played other styles and would like to learn trad/swing, you've played trad/swing but want to hone your skills, or you're new to music altogether, I CAN HELP YOU.
I’ve made my living for nearly thirty years specializing in jazz of the 1920s and ’30s - the genres commonly referred to as “traditional jazz” (or “trad”) and swing. I’m the clarinet instructor at the New Orleans Trad Jazz Camp, the San Diego Adult Trad Jazz Camp, and the newly founded New York Hot Jazz Camp.
I don’t actually teach THE INSTRUMENT - that’s something you can get from thousands of professional instructors. What I teach is THE MUSIC. I have something unique to offer you, which you won’t be able to get from other instructors: a comprehensive understanding of the role the clarinet and saxophone play in a traditional jazz or swing band. How do you choose what notes to play (or not play) during the ensembles and on your solo?
Whether you've played other styles of music and would like to enter the trad jazz/swing arena, you'
ve played trad jazz/swing but would like to hone your skills, or you're new to music altogether, I CAN HELP YOU.
Extremely helpful! We broke down a piece of music I had for class that I was having some trouble with and by the end of the hour I was much more comfortable playing it! What I really liked is that she pointed out things I would have not noticed that made the rhythms easier to understand. Great advice on HOW to practice and how to best approach a difficult part in your music.

Want to develop a beautiful clarinet sound while avoiding awkward squawks and squeaks? As both a saxophone and clarinet player, I can help with many of the technical challenges that may affect a beginning or intermediate player. My curriculum focuses heavily on the Cyril Rose studies for clarinet, as well as the Rubank Advanced Method.
I have been an active professional musician in the Utah Valley for the past 4 years. I came to Utah from Portland, Oregon in 2011 to study at Brigham Young University under Ray Smith, where I earned a BM in Saxophone Performance in 2018. While there, I performed as a member of the BYU Synthesis Big Band as a performer and featured soloist, sharing the stage with the likes of Gladys Knight, Peter Hollens, Konrad Herwig, Ed Calle, Corey Christianson and others. In 2016 I went with Synthesis on a tour of Eastern Europe, where the band and I performed at the Salkrastu Jazz Festival. I can be heard as a featured soloist on the tracks “Laura” and “Downtime” from the BYU Synthesis Album “Downtime” (2018). On the classical side, I was selected as a finalist three years in a row for the BYU Concerto Competition, played tenor saxophone from 2015 to
2017 in the BYU Wind Symphony, and played principal clarinet in the BYU Symphony orchestra in 2018.
In addition to my performances at BYU, I have performed and collaborated with numerous groups and artists on the Provo and Salt Lake music scenes as both a commercial and studio artist, such as my collaboration with Utah-based vocalist Emily Merrell in her performance at the 2018 Jazz Education Network Conference in Dallas, Texas. I also returned to the northwest in 2015 to take part in the Port Townsend Jazz Festival, where I studied with jazz greats such as Terrell Stafford, Steve Wilson, Bob Mintzer and others.
I am a passionate teacher and am happy to take students of all levels, over Skype or in person.
"Because of David Blumberg's expert and approachable style of teaching clarinet, my son--in just a very short time--is playing very well. Mr. Blumberg offe
rs challenges, but is very helpful in getting students to see how they can meet those challenges and continue to improve. A great instructor!"
"Shannon does a great job with the lessons, and I really like the way she approaches them. She has been willing to work around my schedule, and it is very
helpful. I definitely recommend her as a teacher!"
"David Blumberg is the best clarinet teacher I have ever had. I have learned so much in the years I have been with him. He is understanding and really care
s about each one of his students. He had made me understand things that I once thought were complicated and has made practicing and playing more enjoyable for me."
"Eric is an excellent teacher. He is very knowledgeable and very thorough when he is teaching his students. He is very talented and player numerous instr
uments. I would recommend him to anyone for lessons. Sandi Crawford"
"David is a fantastic musician and truly gifted teacher. When I moved to the Philadelphia area, I tried 2 other teachers who had been very highly recommend
ed, but I was sadly disappointed -- not because they were not very good musicians, but because they were not able to pass along to me what I needed I order to progress. I had almost given up on the idea of getting a wonderful teacher who would listen to my needs and be able to help me. But since being with David, my playing has improved tremendously in a fairly short period of time (less that 1 year). He has helped me improve my technique and sound dramatically. And... he's a lovely person. I cannot recommend him highly enough."
"Very kind, patient, extremely knowledgeable and professional, good sense of humor. Inspiring. Going to help me realize goals with my instrument I hadn't e
