I promote creative flow and feeling hee music in the guitar as well as provide an efficient and linear approach to guitar (music) theory that is palatable.
I prefer to keep things simple and move at the pace of the student as they are comfortable. No use in rushing a good thing.

I love classical guitar, and I am passionate about not only helping students grow as musicians, but to grow in their passion for music as well.
I teach classical guitar and host an instructional YouTube channel. I received professional training at the University of Washington in Seattle, and I have taken lessons with the composer/guitarist Kevin Callahan.
I have taught students from age 4 to 80, and I know how to make learning enjoyable for the young and less young. I have learned how to be an encouraging and constructive instructor as I train students in how to play and practice.
Performance and instructional videos are available on my YouTube channel, which can be found by searching for my name.
Thank you!

Brian's patience, skill and enthusiasm are a huge reason for my daughter's ukulele success. He is also very flexible in scheduling classes and accommodating interruptions.
I cannot recommend Brian enough. Anyone needing ukulele or guitar instruction, would do well in considering him.

I have devoted much of my life to music, and through MY decades’ worth of study in the jazz vernacular and wide knowledge of music from the past hundred years, hopes to be able to impart this same enthusiasm to his listeners and students.
I am a guitarist and composer from Seattle Washington. Beginning in 1995 I studied with Seattle musicians such as John Hanberry, Ev Stern and Milo Peterson. I have led and co-lead a number of different groups in Seattle performing at local clubs, weddings and bars ranging in styles including jazz, funk, swing and old time string music. Most notably I hosted the local Thursday night jazz jam session (2015-2017) and played double bass for the ‘20s jazz and Appalachian fiddle music band Porterbelly (2012-2020). In 2020, I moved to New York City to study at NYU.

My philosophy as a teacher is to not only give every student a solid foundation of good technique and practice habits, but to most importantly foster their sense of musicality and expressiveness on the guitar. Having played and been dedicated to mastery of the guitar since the age of 10, I have found that the two greatest joys of playing regardless of skill level is 1. To find your "voice" on guitar and create your own music and 2. Playing and making music with other musicians. I aim to help any player of any age achieve these wonderful benefits by teaching music theory in a fun and practical way alongside developing their technical skills in engaging ways. I still consider myself a student of the instrument even after 14 years of playing and learning many styles, so students will also enjoy learning about (and from!) other great players and musicians as part of their curriculum, giving them an insightful history into the playing of various great guitarists and the timeless music they

Ovation guitars are some of the most unique acoustic-electrics on the market. Designed by engineer Charles Kaman, who had previously worked designing helicopters, Ovations are hybrid guitars with a number of unconventional features, including shallow plastic backs, a built-in preamp, and (on some models) multiple soundholes. For this reason, they can be extremely polarizing. Guitarists tend to either love or hate them. Here are five reasons an Ovation guitar might be just the right thing for you …
