I love classical guitar, and I am passionate about not only helping students grow as musicians, but to grow in their passion for music as well.

I teach classical guitar and host an instructional YouTube channel. I received professional training at the University of Washington in Seattle, and I have taken lessons with the composer/guitarist Kevin Callahan.

I have taught students from age 4 to 80, and I know how to make learning enjoyable for the young and less young. I have learned how to be an encouraging and constructive instructor as I train students in how to play and practice.

Performance and instructional videos are available on my YouTube channel, which can be found by searching for my name.

Thank you!

About Brian

In addition to professional university and private teaching, I have benefitted from attending performances and masterclasses by many of the world's foremost classical guitarists, including Xuefei Yang, Jorge Caballero, Marcin Dylla and Fabio Zanon. I have a great deal of experience studying theo

Brian is a fantastic teacher and an amazing guitarist. He gears the lessons to the students needs and makes the lessons very enjoyable.

My daughter has been taking ukulele lessons from Brian for several years. First of all, her skills and confidence have soared. She enjoys playing and practicing and will often just start strumming and practicing when she has spare time.

Brian's patience, skill and enthusiasm are a huge reason for my daughter's ukulele success. He is also very flexible in scheduling classes and accommodating interruptions.

I cannot recommend Brian enough. Anyone needing ukulele or guitar instruction, would do well in considering him.

My son had been taking lessons for about 4 years before he began working Brian. Our son was looking to learn more about music theory and exploring writing his own music. This is exactly what he received when he began working with Brian. Brian would send him home with weekly lessons and my son was excited to explore this Avenue of music theory and creating his own music. Brian unlocked our son’s creativity and gave him a much needed confidence boost. Brian was extremely flexible with our sons schedule which is a plus, with a teenager who has other activities. My son feels that Brian took his skills to the next level and opened his creativity window to explore other playing styles. Brian exudes patience, kindness, creativity, and a passion for teaching others his love for guitar. We are thankful for Brian’s dedication to our son, it’s such a joy when our son plays for us. Trust me, you can’t go wrong with Brian

I have devoted much of my life to music, and through MY decades’ worth of study in the jazz vernacular and wide knowledge of music from the past hundred years, hopes to be able to impart this same enthusiasm to his listeners and students.

I am a guitarist and composer from Seattle Washington. Beginning in 1995 I studied with Seattle musicians such as John Hanberry, Ev Stern and Milo Peterson. I have led and co-lead a number of different groups in Seattle performing at local clubs, weddings and bars ranging in styles including jazz, funk, swing and old time string music. Most notably I hosted the local Thursday night jazz jam session (2015-2017) and played double bass for the ‘20s jazz and Appalachian fiddle music band Porterbelly (2012-2020). In 2020, I moved to New York City to study at NYU.

My philosophy as a teacher is to not only give every student a solid foundation of good technique and practice habits, but to most importantly foster their sense of musicality and expressiveness on the guitar. Having played and been dedicated to mastery of the guitar since the age of 10, I have found that the two greatest joys of playing regardless of skill level is 1. To find your "voice" on guitar and create your own music and 2. Playing and making music with other musicians. I aim to help any player of any age achieve these wonderful benefits by teaching music theory in a fun and practical way alongside developing their technical skills in engaging ways. I still consider myself a student of the instrument even after 14 years of playing and learning many styles, so students will also enjoy learning about (and from!) other great players and musicians as part of their curriculum, giving them an insightful history into the playing of various great guitarists and the timeless music they

About Zachariah

Hello! My name is Zach, and I have been in love with the guitar since I was 10 years old. Over the 14 years that I've been playing now, I have always been hungry to learn and play in many different styles, starting with blues and folk as a young boy and going on to learn jazz, country, R&B, metal,

Zach is a longtime friend and bandmate. Zach taught me music theory after I spent years and thousands of dollars on university courses that ended up failing. You could not hope for a more kind or patient instructor. He will make everything make sense, whether you’re new or like me and have been self taught for 13+ years. Any style of guitar or technique he will be able to teach you, as he has mastered so many different ways of expression on the guitar. A lesson with Zach will always be money well spent. Check out his YouTube channel, the proof is in his playing.

Pros & Cons of Ovation Guitars

Ovation guitars are some of the most unique acoustic-electrics on the market. Designed by engineer Charles Kaman, who had previously worked designing helicopters, Ovations are hybrid guitars with a number of unconventional features, including shallow plastic backs, a built-in preamp, and (on some models) multiple soundholes. For this reason, they can be extremely polarizing. Guitarists tend to either love or hate them. Here are five reasons an Ovation guitar might be just the right thing for you …
