It was my first lesson and now I have some idea how hold the violin and the bow. My homework is to practice a few notes on each string and then to practice playing the A scale. I think I can do it in two octaves. What is challenging is to play the scale without hearing a screeching sound. I'm looking forward to playing like Sarah Chang (hopefully after five lessons).

I am pretty easy going. I want you to feel comfortable and at ease, but we do need to focus and can have fun doing it. :)
I utilize various methods for each instrument, which is determined by the students learning style and ability; needs, so this can change as time goes on (not sticking to one particular publishers materials). I have done (and continue to do) extensive research into materials available for each instrument I teach, and supplement with my own, to utilize the best out there for "YOU" for the best possible progress. While ensuring an extremely well-rounded musical education, so you can progress at the best possible rate. Since each student's potential is different, each will progress differently. This is also determined by your dedication to daily practice (the more you practice, the quicker you will progress & the more accomplished you will become). This is a 'Team Effort'; I give the guidance and tools. You practice, utilize learn these tools, and off we go! The sky is the limit!

Adam has taught my daughter piano lessons since Fall 2015, and we couldn't ask for a better teacher. He not only teaches his students music theory and how to perform, but he keeps things relaxed and, most importantly, fun for the kids! Adam really knows how to connect with each student, and he understands what makes each kid tick. Adam has definitely played a role in my daughter's love of music. We would recommend him as a music teacher every time.

With 15 years of woodwind teaching experience, I have had the joy of working with complete beginners as well as serious, advanced students. I love to make music and to share my passion with my students, and the goal is to inspire that same passion and love for music in those who I teach, all while having a good time!

Helping my students find the spark that inspires them is important, but fundamentals won't be ignored!

Jazz, classical, rock, funk, R&B, or whatever your style, we can run with it.

Mike taught me everything I know about playing the jazz saxophone. He came to every lesson with great energy and always made me excited about the music with novel ideas for exercises and just the right balance of fun and rudiments. I am not a professional musician, and may never rely on the saxophone for income, but Mike has given me a very deep and permanent appreciation for the music. Thanks to Mike, jazz and the saxophone will always be parts of my life. I cannot recommend him enough as an educator.

I have played the clarinet since 1995, and saxophone fingerings are almost the same! I played the saxophone throughout high school in jazz band, and I played it in college as well. For beginning saxophone players, I would use the "Essential Elements" book. There are many other finger exercise and technique books that I would use for more advanced players.

About Elyse
Hi, Everyone! Thank you so much for taking a moment to read my blurb! My name is Elyse, and I can't wait to meet you! I've taught music in small ensembles since July, 2007 by helping out marching bands. It was so much fun! Teaching and music are my biggest passions.

**If you're going to make a mistake, make a loud one!!**

I want my students to know right off the bat it's okay to make mistakes! My philosophy is: You make mistakes. Mistakes don't make you. :) We fix them and learn together.

I have classroom taught since 2010 - General Music and Choir. I have been teaching private lessons since 2014, and I have absolutely LOVED helping my students read music, excel at playing or singing songs that they enjoy, and seeing their happiness and excitement when they realize how much they have achieved.

In 2009, I graduated from Kent S
tate University, located in Kent, OH, and I earned my Bachelor's degree in Music Education. I'm definitely a fun-loving, outgoing person, and my teaching style is tailored to my students; a think-outside-the-box style, and hands-on.

Let's get together, reach for those stars, and grab your goals!

Tony taught my son saxophone all through junior high & high school. He is very skilled in music theory & a very talented professional musician. He definitely knows his instruments. His communication is great & he was very thorough. Tony was always willing to take the time to keep me updated about my son's progress & helped me keep tabs on what my son was to be practicing between lessons. He was also great about reminding me of upcoming lessons, which was a great help with the busy schedule we haf going. I would definitely reccommend him as a great teacher with much to offer.
