Hi, my name is Alanna and I am a classically trained saxophonist and private saxophone teacher of over 14 years. I specialize in teaching strong foundational skills to beginner and intermediate students and helping them to learn songs they are excited to play. As a teacher, I pride myself on tailoring our saxophone lesson plans to your specific goals, whether that's to have fun and play the songs you enjoy, or to prepare for an audition or event. What can you expect in our saxohpone lessons together? We'll start by getting to know each other a bit, and I'll learn more about your goals and what you want to learn on the saxophone. Then each subsequent lesson will work on building the skills to achieve that goal (and more!) MY BACKGROUND: I hold a degree in Music Performance (Saxophone) from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and previously studied saxophone performance at the University of Georgia as well. Aside from teaching, I have had the privilege of traveling the southeast performing with the Redcoat Marching Band from The University of Georgia, performed numerous solo recitals, have played lead alto and lead tenor in various Jazz bands, and performed with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra in Gershwin's "An American in Paris"- a rare treat for performing saxophonists. Outside of playing the saxophone, I feed my creative spirit by hiking, camping, paddle boarding, and cooking.
