I have over 20 years experience teaching flute players ranging from beginners through advanced. We work hard and have a lot of fun!

Many of my students have had successful auditions for honor/state groups and youth orchestras, and have won scholarships for college. My local students perform several times throughout the year in studio recitals, local flute events and giving back to the community. I work with my online students to find ways for them to perform as well.

I love teaching and watching my student achieve new goals and play things they thought were impossible. Everything takes work, but with repetition, encouragement, and fun, it is all possible!

About Kerri
I believe that each student will be successful when they enjoy learning and have something concrete to show for it. It is my privilege to work with students to achieve their goals in an encouraging, fun, hard-working environment.

I have worked for over 20 years with many different kinds of students. Some enjoy playing for personal enjoyment, while some prefer the competitive route. I've been trained and worked with students of all abilities. I've worked with young flutists who require a special head joint to play, more mature students who play to keep their brain active and healthy, and everybody in between. Several of my students have chosen to pursue a career in music and have earned scholarships at their respective universities.

In our flute studio, we perform several times per year at studio recitals and concerts for the infirm
ed and elderly. We attend local flute events, masterclasses, and festivals together. Music is meant to be shared, and we enjoy sharing!

I hold a CA teaching credential and am cleared with 6 charter schools in Orange County.

My family and I recently moved to Texas. I am excited to work with the Texas Flute Society and meet the local flutists!

I have been playing flute for 17 years. I was asked to play as the principal flutist in my middle school wind band. I can play different styles, included but not limited by pop, classical, folk, contemporary classical, and has a fast score reading speed. I can also offer you an improvising piano accompany on the class if needed as I'm also a pianist, composer, and a conductor.

About Mengqi
I love to work with students. I‘m a composer, pianist, conductor, and Chinese-government-certificated teacher. I have been playing piano for 23 years, and have been playing flute for 17 years. I am familiar with music theories and traditional music history from the ancient and medieval to the twenty-first century in details as any other professional composer, so if you are curious to listen to a story or even gossip of someone like Bach, Haydn or Mozart, I can tell you one sometimes. As a performer, I was asked to play as principal flutist in my middle school wind band and was also admitted to Piano Major in the first two years of my Bachelor's Degree. I was one of the best pianists in my undergraduate school and switched to the composition and theory major to learn more knowledge (piano GPA was preferred to be high by most composition pr
ofessors to accept this switching). I also have a teacher license issued by the Education Community by my country, and this license is required if anyone in my country wants to be hired by the government as a teacher. I was commissioned by Maryland University and Bowdoin College Museum to write music for them, and also cooperated with a director and had written music for two of her movies.
