Joseph was quick to identify my strengths and where I could use a bit of work to tailor a plan to get my sax chops back. He's also teaching me music theory which is very clear and easy to understand.

I took up clarinet as a double to clarinet and have been studying it for about 2 years.

About Joseph
I grew up in music, and started playing the piano when I was 6 years old, and began composing and using Logic Pro two years after that. I have been playing saxophone for 8 years, and am currently working to gain my bachelors degree in music performance from California State University, Fullerton. During my saxophone instruction I also began learning clarinet as a supplementary instrument, and have been playing it for 3 years. What I love about music the most, is how deep it resonates with the human soul and how the music stems from the passion of the composer and the performer.

I feel that my job as a teacher is to instill a sense of passion and love for music in my students, in addition to teaching them the instrument and the rudiments of music. I also am a strong believer that the best way to grow as a musician is to perform, to play
with other musicians, and to listen to as much music as one can get their hands on. My teaching style emphasizes deliberate and consistent practice schedules and a very broad and visceral understanding of music as a whole.

The clarinet can be one of the most frustrating instruments out there if you're lacking the necessary fundamentals, so my goal is to work on that to help you enjoy playing that much more. I can help you improve technically and musically thanks to my own experience as a student, as a teacher, and as a professional instrumentalist. I have played professionally in several orchestras, including the San Juan Symphony, Roswell Symphony, Spazio Musica Opera Festival, and other regional groups.

About Wojciech
Wojciech (pron. Voytek) is the newly appointed Music Director of the Summerville Orchestra in Summerville, SC. He was selected from an international field of 63 applicants, and is actively working on growing the music scene in the Summerville community.

Prior to his arrival in Summerville, Wojciech spent four years in New Mexico, working as a professional musician and completing his graduate degree at the University of New Mexico, where he studied Orchestral Conducting with Dr. Jorge Perez-Gomez, Piano & Opera Coaching with Dr. Kristin Ditlow, and clarinet with Prof. Keith Lemmons.

At UNM, he was the Assistant Conductor of the UNMSO, and the first Music Director/Co-founder of the Health Sciences Center Orchestra (HSCO) of UNM. Other conducting engagements apart from UNM have included work as a guest conductor with the Albuquerque
Philharmonic Orchestra and Music Director with Landmark Musical Theater.

In addition to conducting, he still maintains an active performing career – he has performed professionally on both piano and clarinet with organizations such as the National Broadway Tour of “Wicked”, New Mexico Symphonic Chorus, San Juan Symphony, and the Roswell Symphony. In Albuquerque, Wojciech also served as the accompanist/pianist at the First Unitarian Church of ABQ, and has worked with Opera Southwest in various capacities.

I have been teaching Woodwinds for quite a few years and I love it! My students have seen results from learning to love to practice, to competitive success in solo competitions. When you first come you will start to think about music in a simpler way and will gain the confidence and understanding you need to play how you would like. Normally, I use The Rubank Method to develop a lot of technique in younger students. For those playing jazz or folk, we do a lot of play alongs while focusing on specific concepts.

About Henrik
Hello my name is Henrik! I have been playing the saxophone ever since I first picked one up in grade school. I consider myself a goofy individual who takes my instrument very seriously. I have been teaching private students for about eight years. I am currently getting my degree in Saxophone Performance from BYU. I love it when my students learn to have fun while practicing and gain confidence in performing. No matter your schedule or location, I am determined to make a difference and help people improve. I have a flexible class schedule that allows you to pick a time that works best for you.

I find it most successful to prepare a lesson for each student before hand, rather than going over the same thing with every one of them. You can expect a well rounded range of exercises and practice techniques. From motif development, t
une memorization and progressive patterns, to theory studies, music analyzation and playing along with the great recordings with the pros.

Mike taught me everything I know about playing the jazz saxophone. He came to every lesson with great energy and always made me excited about the music with novel ideas for exercises and just the right balance of fun and rudiments. I am not a professional musician, and may never rely on the saxophone for income, but Mike has given me a very deep and permanent appreciation for the music. Thanks to Mike, jazz and the saxophone will always be parts of my life. I cannot recommend him enough as an educator.

Claire is an excellent instructor. she makes you feel at ease. she was punctual and very friendly. She has a French accent and is French born. I cannot insist enough how important it is to learn from a teacher who's native language is whatever that your are trying to learn. obviously with me having no background in French it is a learning curve but honestly I felt that after the first 45 mins I was enjoying mind it not because of anything else but the teacher's excellent, easy going manner and her enthusiasm for teaching. she is encouraging without being pushy but we also had material covered so no wasting time here. answered all of my questions and began with a great game plan. thank you Claire with God's grace and permission I hope you succeed in all that you do.

Hello/Bonjour!
Yes, my main language is English, mais si vous voudriez mes leçons en français, n'est-ce pas d'un problème.
Either way, I have been playing clarinet for 14 years and recently obtained my Bachelor's of Arts in Music from Elizabethtown College. I have had two students prior to branching out online, one while in high school and another through Elizabethtown College's Preparatory Division. Throughout my years playing I have earned spots in auditioned groups mostly without the aid of a private teacher myself because my family was unable to financially support these for me. As I began my college experience, I studied under Faith Shiffer, MM. Both my professor and my ensemble professor have given me a wealth of knowledge in music, performance, and pedagogy that I wish to pass on to any musician, beginning or seasoned.

About Tamantha
I have recently graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor's of Arts in Music. My primary was clarinet. Alongside clarinet, though, I studied saxophone, guitar, piano, and voice. Genres that I have studied include: classical, jazz, funk, rock, dixie, rag, and klezmer.

A majority of my classes have been in Music Therapy, and I plan to continue that journey at Marywood University. That being said, my background in education is different than that of some of my peers with a Bachelor's of Music in Music Education. I make sure to allow students to grow alongside the instrument and discover their passions their way. We will work together, cultivate a plan based on strengths and needs, and work towards a co-created overall goal together.

I have had two students in the past: one in high school and another in my last semesters of under
grad. The student I had in high school is now entering her senior year as a clarinet primary, double majoring in Performance and Early Education. My other student is still primary age.

I look forward to meeting you! Musicianship is always within reach.
