Very patient and kind person. And a great communicator. A great fit for my 10-year-old son. So glad we chose Edwin.

For the first lesson, I couldn't have asked for much more. Edwin could pick up on what I knew and where to start with me, You can tell he has a wonderful mastery of music and convey what he's thinking so that you can understand it.

Edwin is amazing. My 5 year old is pretty distracted and stubborn. Edwin made the lesson very fun for him and he actually learned a lot in the short lesson. He was very patient. He taught him not only the instrument itself but started teaching him some rhythm and music theory as well. As soon as my son matures a little more and is ready for lessons we will definitely pick Edwin!

David S.

Highland, MD

David enjoys teaching students from all different backgrounds and levels of proficiency. Whether you are just starting out or a virtuoso shredder in the making, he is happy to teach you! Over all, he is fairly laid back, as long as you practice. He usually combines work with reading off of the treble clef (what he likens to "eating your vegetables." You may not want to do it, but it will make you a healthier musician!) with learning more popular songs (or songs the student says they would like to learn) through tablature and chord charts, depending on the style of the song.

David is also very pro music theory. He usually incorporates music theory into the curriculum in conjunction with the material already being discussed. He is also very knowledgeable about composition/songwriting, and if the student is interested in learning more about this area, he is happy to share what he knows!

The foundation of music lessons is good ears and good time feel (groove). These are skills that all the best musicians have. That, along with some study of guitar basics will cover about half of our lesson time. The other half should be devoted to the kind of music that inspired you to look me up. My hope is that you will become a well rounded musician and guitar player, and that I can show you some music I think is cool. I also hope you bring in cool stuff I've never heard of, and then I can show you how to play it :-)

I also enjoy preparing for auditions, and competing for placement in school ensembles and for scholarships.

I'm an adult with some music background. Jordan has been great, encouraging me in my progress and helping pay attention to the details of music. He's also guiding me in teaching my kids who are 5 and 7. They have some special needs. We tried having my boys take lessons from Jordan initially, they just weren't ready for formal instruction. Too many typical crazy kid behavior. So I am doing what I can at home and Jordan has given me great input to get them ready to eventually take lessons. I'm so impressed with Jordan. He has a great, positive, fun personality and he really knows is music!!

Jordan has a personable, fun style. He put me at ease in my first lesson. He found examples and imagery that helped me understand how to play and appreciate some technical musical concepts. Jordan helped me get off my musical plateau in one lesson.

This was our first lesson and first impression is that he was very patient with our boys. Our boys have some special needs and he was understanding and accommodating. It's clear he is very knowledgable about the instrument. Time will tell if his teaching style and personality will work for us in the long run.

I took a wild chance finding Francesca online, not knowing anyone who'd worked with her and not knowing whether lessons online would feel right. but I was more than amazed. Francesca is so articulate, enthusiastic, encouraging, intelligent, tuned in, and just plain musical - the lesson time flew by so fast and I hardly noticed that we weren't in the same room (in fact we were 3,000 miles apart!). She's not a musician who happens to teach, she's a truly gifted and accomplished teacher. I'm very excited about all I can learn from her!

1st Lesson

My 1st lesson with Jason was very relaxed & professional. I learned more in 45 minutes than the last 5 months on my own in regards to reading music, rhythm, timing and playing the notes on the staff. He is very patient and knowledgeable. His diversity in music provides an understanding of where you are at and where you want to go with music. I look forward to my next lesson with Jason.
