Music is an extremely multifaceted skill and every student learns in a completely different way. Some students will gravitate towards certain aspects of music more then others. For me, it is all about favoring these aspects in order for the student to get the most creative and intellectual growth. I am a well-versed professional musician and have experience in many genres from classical to more popular styles. I teach strong foundations in note reading, music theory, ear training, sight reading, technique, improvisation and more. My lessons are always encouraging no matter what level or pace the student is at. Send me a message, I look forward to working with you!

Music has many aspects and certain students gravitate towards different aspects then others. I focus on these specific aspects so my students get the most creative and intellect
ual growth.

Kevin has been my teacher for 3 years. We meet once a week. Kevin is a gifted teacher (and a great musician). He only corrects a mistake once I've reached the level when I can fix it. This way I have been making progress week after week, and it feels good.

Kevin is a wonderful teacher. My daughter started saxophone lessons with him at the beginning of the summer and she adores him. He's funny, patient, encouraging and thoughtful. We couldn't ask for a better sax teacher! Kevin also taught a master class at my older son's middle school and he was fantastic. I highly recommend him!

This teacher is impossible to get a hold of. Tried leaving several voicemails and text messages. He has a couple different phone #'s. Don't know which, if any, is the active # to use. No response from him ever. Couldn't reschedule because of this. Plus he lied and said I never contacted him. Now I am out a ton of money for lessons I wasn't able to use. Very greedy. I am not happy.

Each lesson includes studies of fundamental techniques, ear training, and music history in order to facilitate the development of a whole musician.

About Stephanie
Hello, and thank you for your interest!

My name is Stephanie, I am a teaching-artist from El Paso, Texas. I currently reside, perform and teach in the Boston and greater Boston area.

I am a recent graduate of The New England Conservatory of Music with my Masters in Saxophone Performance. I received my Bacherlors in Music Education from New Mexico State University.

“A teaching artist, by definition, is a two-career professional: a working artist and a working educator. As a working artist is they are involved in an ongoing process of discovery, problem solving, discipline and refinement of skills in their discipline. As a working educator, it is essential that the artist is also developing a knowledge base and skills to be an effective partner in education. Achieving a meaningful balance between these two professions, whereby one
feeds the other, is an ongoing process that requires a deepening awareness for the teaching artist of what their teaching brings to their art and what their art teaches them about learning.”

I am devoted and dedicated to helping find each of my students strengths, weaknesses and style of learning. Once I have identified these traits, I am able to develop lessons and repertoire that helps each students become the most efficient learner and best musician they can be.

I pride myself in creating a fun and safe learning environment in which I establish a firm musical foundation for my students. Lessons include: scales, etudes, articulation, dynamic and sight reading exercises, standard saxophone repertoire, recording and analyzing performances, saxophone/music history lessons, and exploration of the sounds, genres and artists of the saxophone.

Simultaneously, my students cultivate many other skills while learning how to play saxophone. Students enhance their fine motor skills and ability to memorize, students increase their overall self-confidence and become self-sufficient and creative problem solvers. I am passionate about educating and empowering my students and I enjoy connecting with a wide array of musicians of all ages, playing levels and backgrounds.

Feel free to contact me to inquire about lessons, I hope to hear from you soon!

Stephanie is a patient, knowledgeable, enthusiastic educator and collaborator who loves to perform and teach. I had the honor of working with her for nearly four years while we pursued similar degrees at New Mexico State University. She consistently brought a level of maturity and preparedness beyond her age to our rehearsals and practices. If I was limited to only one word to describe her, it would be "professional".

Professional saxophonist trained at top conservatories and colleges in the US and UK. Experienced in teaching all levels and ages, from beginner through college students. Students have won district and state competitions and have earned places in college programs. I am currently teaching saxophone at the University of Central Missouri where I teach music education and performance majors, as well as non-music majors.

About Alastair
"Wright’s playing was tremendously technical and high-flying. So high-flying in fact, that when he reached for some of his highest altissimo notes my eyebrows shot up in sympathetic awe." - KC Metropolis Review, 5/29/18.

I currently serve on faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, having previously taught saxophone at the University of Central Missouri. I am a Conn-Selmer endorsing artist. I hold music performance degrees from the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music (Bachelors), UK, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (Masters) and the University of Missouri Kansas City (Doctorate).

Through teaching students of all levels from beginner through to graduate performance majors, I have learned to adapt my teaching to suit every individual. I believe in addressing not just instrumental technique, but the broa
der issues musicality and performance, too. I believe that the study of music should above all be enjoyable and this is important to me in my lessons, while still maintaining a certain discipline required to really get the most out of the study of instrumental music.

I have taught saxophone for many years and have studied it since the 4th grade

About Brad
I use my 28 years of experience playing piano to help students enjoy music in whatever way they want; whether it's learning their favorite pop song, writing and professionally recording an original tune, or learning that difficult piece that they never thought they would be able to play. It's all about finding the best way to have fun with music and getting the satisfaction that learning an instrument offers.

I believe that learning music can be a fun, almost magical experience with a good teacher. I have created the North Shore Piano Studio to create an inspiring atmosphere to share my love of music with others. I have taught hundreds of students how to play piano and each student is unique in how they learn. My goal is to help each one get the most they can out of a music education and have fun doing it.
