When taking lessons with me, you will be learning from a musician that has performed and recorded with Grammy-level instrumentalists such as Alex Sipiagin, Ulysses Owens Jr., Christian Sands, Yotam Silberstein, Gil Goldstein, Ben Williams, Reuben Rogers, and Michael Dease. Having studied and performed in multiple genres including classical, jazz, R&B, musical theater, gospel, and others, I will be able to show you how to master your instrument in any context. Having recorded my own compositions commercially with some of the most well-regarded artists in New York, you will be studying with someone who knows what it takes to develop their own personal style successfully. I teach everything from fundamentals, to theory, to composition, to doubling, to improvisation and more. Experienced teacher of 6 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so that students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of saxophone skills. I specialize in classical performance and typically use Standard of Excellence or Accent on Achievement band method books.

I have been playing various woodwind instruments for almost my entire life. I focus on tone, intonation (staying in tune), and the confidence needed to be a strong melodic player. I teach all of the various saxes including soprano, alto, tenor, and bari.

I've been playing saxophone for 28 years, and professionally for over 20. My journey has taken me from beginner in school band to one of the largest music schools at the university level. I've played in a multitude of professional settings including clubs, festivals, tours, and recording studios. I'm classically trained but specialize in improvisational music, jazz, latin, and funk. Over the years I have been fortunate to play with and learn from some true masters. I can teach you the techniques necessary to perform at the highest levels and have fun doing it. Whether you want improve you sound, learn to sight read, learn songs, or play over chord changes at a jam session I'm confident I can help.
