Education and Experience: B.A. & M.A.in Guitar/Music Education from Brooklyn College. Music school training from early age on Guitar, Piano, Saxophon

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a laid back teacher with many years of experience, which gives me the confidence to make the lessons fun and educational. Even though I am not very strict, I do have some expectations of my students: they will have to practice in order to be ready for the next lesson and in order to improve and show progress. After 3 or 6 months, my students will be able to play songs with various chords already, be able to read simple music and start learning how to improvise.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living Room: Amps, guitars, full keyboard

*** Travel Equipment ***
I would provide the book for the student on the first lesson, however after that the student would have to purchase the book. I will have my own instrument, but the student must have their own instrument in order to be ready for the lesson. I do have a number of guitars and if its a guitar student - I would be able to let the student use one of my guitars on the first lesson.

*** Specialties ***
I teach many various styles and incorporate the reading and music literacy in all of the styles. I specialize in teaching Classical and Rock genres of music. However I have taught: Metal, Bossa Nova, Pop, Punk, Flamenco, Progressive. Teaching classical genre - I incorporate a lot of various techniques that are very broad in spectrum to help the student learn to perform the music, read, improvise and compose. Teaching Rock genre - I teach my students to read music as well and concentrate on improvising and soloing techniques as well.

Loving my teacher

I have studied with Alex for over 5 years, time in which I feel I have accomplished so much on the guitar. Alex is awesome! He has real passion for the music and the instrument he teaches, he is extremely patient, has great insights in explaining the music or the techniques and shows a great resourcefulness in approaching various methods to each musical style he teaches.

Learning to Play

Alex is a great teacher. He is extremely patient and very good at taking his time to explain the things you do not understand. It's easy for me to express my own concerns as well as ask him questions. I also think his teaching techniques are great. He uses songs of your choosing as well as knows plenty of songs to advance your techniques with the guitar in realistic stages. He is good with constructive criticism. I like his honesty and directness, but he never makes you feel like you can't do it. Alex can spot things wrong with your technique quickly and help correct them. He also promotes a positive environment for those not yet confident in their playing.

I am very happy with Alex as my guitar teacher and feel that I can learn so much from him and I would definitely recommend him to another guitar player.

I studied music at UCF (Orlando), focusing on classical and jazz guitar, but I also have years of experience playing rock, blues, folk, hip-hop, and musical theater on both guitar and drums.

*** Studi

Hi there!

I've been practicing yoga since 2008, teaching since 2013. My current practice is Ashtanga Yoga, but I have practiced a variety of styles and always teach according to the student's needs. I specialize in teaching guys, helping to build body strength while cutting fat and opening up tight shoulders and hips.

I have been playing the saxophone for fifteen years, and occasionally gig around the city. I attended music school in Oregon, but paused to take a job in New York. I can teach beginning/intermediate saxophone as well as basic music theory to students of any instrument.

Life can be demanding, and often times we sacrifice our health to make more time for work and family. I have years of experience cooking healthy meals, and can teach you how to craft delicious meals with minimum prep time. As a vegetarian, I can appr
oach a meatless meals in a healthy manner. B12, protein, iron? No fear, I'll help you sort it out.

Lessons will focus on the obvious matters of technique and theory but also will be stressed on the musicality and "feel" of your instrument as well. After all, music stirs the soul and so I believe learning the craft must be done with curiosity and spirituality as well! You will learn everything from the fundamentals to classical music to
jazz improvisation and rhythm and well anything you would want!

I am NOT looking to simply be your one-on-one musical drill instructor. I am a very open and sociable person and I tend to develop strong relationships with my students. I love to have a laugh, connect with people, but I also take music and teaching it very seriously, and so if music and honesty is what you seek, I would love to study it with you!

*** Lesson Details ***
The things that I can guarantee you are my honesty, progress, friendship, and my utmost to try and enrich your life with the world of music. HOW you progress and how quickly you do so, is entirely up to the both of us; a teacher/student relationship goes both ways.

I am a very engaged and involved teacher, meaning that I will be listening to everything, keeping detailed logs and playing my horn with you as much as possible! Depending on your level and commitment, we will do everything from studying the repetitive fundamentals, jamming together with some records, honing technique with classical pieces, and even just sitting and listening to the masters.

I will have direction to my teachings, but I also encourage students to speak their mind about anything. That way I can learn more about you and the things you wish to accomplish personally! With that said, you will be pushed, as I believe that is my sole responsibility as a teacher; to get the BEST out of you!

Jazz, Classical, Funk, Soul and R&B, Pop, Music Performance

Yuki is the best sax teacher that I could imagine lives on this planet (by the way I’m one of his students.) It’s been maybe 5-6 weeks and I know him like my neighbor! Every time I see him I get better and better! Besides that he’s one of the nicest people I have ever met. I’m positive all of his other students are 100% satisfied with his lessons and will stay with him until they are better than he is. In the end he is a very positive sax teacher and his main priority is to satisfy your child with their skills and performance. I know that I’m satisfied and hopefully you will be too!

Yuki is a wonderful and patient teacher. I am sixty years old and have always wanted to learn the sax. He always takes time to explain what we are trying to accomplish, even with an " old guy " like myself. I highly recommend Yuki to anyone who wishes to learn the sax in a competent and relaxed manner

Since I started playing at age 11, I have been fortunate enough to study with some prolific musicians including: UNT sax professor Brad Lelei, Grammy nominated saxophonist Myron Walden, and world renowned bass player Reggie Workman. I currently study saxophone at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. In my lessons we'll have fun while focusing on your goals. Through practice and the materials I provide, you will notice a dramatic increase in your musical abilities. See you soon!

About Alexander
At my lessons, I use the experience and knowledge that I have acquired from over 10 years of playing and studying music to teach students how to take their playing to the next level and reach their goals.

I attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, TX, and am now one semester shy from graduating from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, a conservatory in New York City.

I find the best way to learn is in a fun, stress-free environment where the instructor pays close attention to the needs of their students. I believe in cultivating an appreciation for jazz and other styles of music, paying close attention to detail, and building a strong foundation through focused practice.

Learn how to play saxophone and read music; also, develop your musical "inner ear" and understanding of music theory.

About Daniel
Hello! I am a saxophonist, jazz musician, woodwind player, and music educator. I have a degree in Jazz Performance from William Paterson University, where I studied with Mulgrew Miller, Harold Mabern, Vincent Herring, Rich Perry, Bill Mobley, and many more of New York/New Jersey's finest musicians. I have experience playing professionally in jazz ensembles (as both a sideman and leader), pit orchestras, and wedding/cover bands.

My teaching career began informally while I was in high school, showing friends the basics of what I knew at the time on different instruments. I would also give some lessons to family friends, usually the younger siblings who were just starting out in 5th or 6th grade band. After I graduated from college in 2016, I began teaching professionally at various music studios throughout the North Jersey area, and thr
ough online services like this one. I also have experience in teaching after-school music programs in a classroom setting with elementary schoolers (K- 3rd grade).
