I provide all of the necessary coaching and teaching advice to get students playing the saxophone, first and foremost.

Once as student reaches a certain level, we can begin to explore the more musical aspects of the saxophone, as they pertain to soloing, playing melodies, improvising and stylistic inflections and tendencies as well as Music Theory.

About Jose Luis

My name is Jose Luis Alonso. A graduate of Hunter College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance, I have been been offering music lessons for several years now to students of many ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience. I have developed a very keen sense and understanding of Music and hope to share my experience and knowledge in a fun and creative way. Above all else, I encourage students to develop their talents in way that helps them find their own voice with which to navigate the world of music.

Private Saxophone Teacher

Over the course of 10 years teaching experience, I have gained tremendous success teaching saxophone to students young and old. I have taught in conservatories as well as privately, and have refined my methods of teaching the passionate rigor which music demands.

I currently have a private studio where I teach, on 72nd Street in Manhattan. I can also travel to your home. I teach Classical and Klezmer music, to kids and adults who have never played an instrument before, as well as advanced players. I also teach theory.

I am a devoted teacher, and over so many years, I feel what I have to offer my students has grown exponentially. I know how to work with individuals on their own terms, and have a good sense of how my own playing can help inspire and guide my students.

Recently, he performed at La MaMa with the Faux-Real Company, and played Alain Middleton's "Music in Klezmer Modes" with Iktus Percussion. He also played with the New York Harmonic Band at Carnegie Hall and he plays with the Metropolitan Klezmer Band. Naum recently established a klezmer band called "Parnuse".

Freelance work includes playing with Mozart Divertimento Trio on Israel Classical Music Station, and with the Symphony Orchestra of Raanana, and the Israel Chamber Orchestra. Studying with Naum I not developed my musicality tremendously, while still focusing on technical aspects of playing. He is a patient, inspiring instructor. My little brother (13) studied with Naum for three years and is now playing at a level above many his age. What I appreciate the most about Naum's approach, is his ability to adapt to his student's individual needs and abilities. I always felt my lessons were made for me, and this helped me grow very quickly as a musician. I should also add that Naum is a fantastically talented player, and very moving to hear in concert.

Private Saxophone Teacher

Beginning students learn basic techniques, scales & songs.

About Granville

I operate in the music arena as a touring musician; a Music Director for musicals, jazz ensembles and choirs; a composer & songwriter; a band teacher at my local elementary school, a private instructor and a producer with a degree in Jazz Composition and Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. I am currently performing and writing with Divinity Roxx (Beyonce, Victor Wooten, etc.), Elle Winston, Kate Vargas and others. Most of my writing and creating is done here in my private studio. I am proud to have produced tracks featured by the likes of Elton John on his Beats 1 Radio (Apple Music) station. That is to say, I'm really proud of the artists and having such an inspired space.

I have, and continue to be honored to perform all over the world with some of the most prolific players this planet has seen and those it will experi

ence in the coming years. I find playing music can be a great source of inspiration and release. But most importantly, everyone has a voice to be heard through music.

I have taught privately since I was in high school on my own. Over the years, I have also been affiliated with some amazing entities. Additionally, my work in arts administrative (Brooklyn Academy of Music -BAM, UVA Music) and my new affiliation with Zoo Labs translates into my ability to show you skills that will garnish success when you aren't playing music.

My students can expect growth in knowledge of rhythm, understanding of music and song forms. Your timing will improve! Your feel for styles (blues, rock, jazz, hip hop, EDM, etc.) will improve! Your technique will be through the roof!! I empower my students to do whatever they can dream to do with music, whether it is for personal enrichment or personal ambition.

I will demystify anything you feel is outside of your reach and grow you into the musician you want to be. My private studio is a fully equipped playground for the musically-minded with all the tools and materials you need to grow as a musician, so all you need to bring is your imagination. I look forward to the journey.

I accept all levels

About Artyom

I provide music lessons to the students of all ages. My main goal is to teach students a wonderful art of music performance and I strive to provide the best music education possible. Each kid and adult is an individual and has its own needs and dreams. I use a variety of music methods and tailor music lessons for each person individually.

For the younger piano students, I require to purchase methods books (Faber’s Piano Adventures). For more advanced students I choose a set of etudes, scale books, exercises and musical pieces that fits student’s level the best and help with gaining needed skills.

For the saxophone and clarinet students, I use variations of methods, etudes, pieces to achieve great results. If the saxophone or clarinet students have the piano at home I will be accompanying their pieces sometimes. In addition to this,

I give a chance to play pieces with play along songs and my wind students can collaborate with my piano students and perform the songs together during the recitals.

You'll be playing songs in no time! With over eight years of teaching experience with students of all ages, I know how to tailor your experience to you or your child's goals and experience level. I believe that we get the most joy from playing our instrument by developing strong fundamentals so that new musical challenges are enlightening rather than frustrating.

About Julian

I began teaching in-home lessons to K-12 and adult students in 2010. Since then I have:
1) Taught thousands of fun and engaging lessons to over 150 students
2) Helped high school students attain successful college music auditions
3) Had students on saxophone AND clarinet place successfully in All-State and All-County Honors Bands and Gifted and Talented Ensembles

Whether your student is excelling and wants new musical challenges to stay engaged or you think they could enjoy music but are struggling to keep up, I have experience with that situation. I am a passionate performer myself, and I released my debut jazz album in early 2018. I truly believe that music is one of the greatest sources of joy in the world.

I played the sax through high school and then stopped playing until I retired ~ 4 years ago. I started lessons with Julian when he lived nearby and have continued with "skype" lessons since he moved out of the area. He's a great teacher: motivational, thorough knowledge of both classical and jazz, kind, good sense of humor, and a good communicator. I highly recommend him.

I highly recommend Julian as a saxophone teacher. My son started playing saxophone and taking lessons with Julian three years ago, when my son was 9 years old. Julian is patient with my son and has built a good rapport with him. Julian has always encouraged him to try his best and to not be discouraged when he makes mistakes, and that has made my son comfortable with Julian and confident enough to push himself. Also, Julian is reliable and punctual, and is good at communicating through text and email.

"She is patient and tries to find new and creative ways to improve learning. She doesnt just teach to simply learn just enough to play an instrument but ra

"There's a difference between knowing how to play and knowing how to teach and Matt is fluent in both. I have given up on the Sax a couple times before due

"Frixos is a great instructor and a musician. It took me a while to find him. I think I've listen to every instuctor's video on this site before I made my
choice. What made me chose him, as my teacher, was his passionate and creative style of playing. I believe a sax sound without emotion is a waste of this instrument. Unfortunately, very many musicians have a great technique but their music doesn't have an emotional/passionate story behind it. Well, Frixos had that and it helped me make my decision. As an instructor, he goes an extra mile to make sure I have all the support I need and beyond. He is thorough, responsible, and so much fun to work with!!! What he charges for the quality of service he provides is a "joke". So my recommendation to those who look for a teacher: take this great opportunity, let HIM teach you, and you won't regret!!! :)
P.S. I have no doubts that for as long as he is my instructor, I WILL learn how to play and be very good at it!
