My son is in 10th grade and has been studying Saxophone with Ian for almost 4 years. Ian is great on teaching, nice to student, always responsive to questions. Highly recommended.

Me and my 12-year-old son started saxophone two years ago together. Ian had a great guide to us who had never played the instrument. My growth is slow due to age issues, (of course satisfied) but my son's growth was great. My son now has a great deal of confidence as a jazz player, and he was able to work on other things positively too. We met Ian then became more into music and jazz. He is patient and will tell you until we can do. Ian is mainly jazz, but he is also very familiar with brass band and classical saxophone too. He is a working musician who do live performance, gig, and compose in various places. He loves music from the heart, his solo is so beatuiful. Ian's lessons has changed our life. We really grateful for giving us his time.

My motto is efficient work for maximum pleasure. The idea is to build up a strong foundation of basic technique of the instrument (body, sound, air, time) in order to quickly come to play along your music idols.

With more than 20 years of practice and more than a decade of experience teaching, I've seen and gone through all kinds of mistakes myself which allows me to really know the correct and sane way to play saxophone, effortlessly and beautifully. Moreover, I have played all kinds of music through the years going from Bach to John Cage, from pop to classical to jazz, afro-cuban, brazilian, etc. Therefore, I'll be able to adapt my teaching specifically to your goals and to enlarge your scope of knowledge.

"I have been working with Eric for the past 10 years. He has helped my Downey HS Jazz Program tremendously through his method of teaching jazz improvisation. Eric made my job a lot easier, having students understanding the art of creating something out of nothing! As it is very frightening for young musicians to improvise, Eric developed a sense of confidence in our students when it comes to it. I can’t thank him enough for what he does every week"

"Frixos is a great instructor and a musician. It took me a while to find him. I think I've listen to every instuctor's video on this site before I made my choice. What made me chose him, as my teacher, was his passionate and creative style of playing. I believe a sax sound without emotion is a waste of this instrument. Unfortunately, very many musicians have a great technique but their music doesn't have an emotional/passionate story behind it. Well, Frixos had that and it helped me make my decision. As an instructor, he goes an extra mile to make sure I have all the support I need and beyond. He is thorough, responsible, and so much fun to work with!!! What he charges for the quality of service he provides is a "joke". So my recommendation to those who look for a teacher: take this great opportunity, let HIM teach you, and you won't regret!!! :)
P.S. I have no doubts that for as long as he is my instructor, I WILL learn how to play and be very good at it!

"Welcoming personality makes learning fun

Mary has done a great job with my son. She made my son feel comfortable enough at his first lesson that he kicked me out! On his second lesson he managed to not only forget his sheet music, but his instrument too! Mary still managed to teach him things and by the time I got back with the Sax he was fully engaged in learning some things she wrote on paper. My son has enjoyed his lessons and I see him keeping more interest than with just his school lessons alone. He is DEFINITELY learning and having fun doing it."
