Mixing improvisation with rote technicality imbues the student with input into the education process, allowing them to make their own patterns on a foundation of theoretical veracity. This makes the process both personal and fun!

About Jeremy

I come from a jazz background, but my passion is instrumental trap music. I’ve played in rap, funk, jazz, neo-soul, blues, pop, reggae, alternative rock, klezmer, avante garde and classical bands; my sound is very Dexter Gordon/‘Trane - with a flair of modern contemporary and experimental.

About Scott

Hi! I'm Scott. I usually perform using a one-man band setup I created. I modified guitar and made foot pedals to control a drum set, while singing. I have a recording studio at home, and have performed with bands as a singer, guitarist, saxophonist, bassist, percussionist, and as a sound engineer.

About Lance

What I appreciate the most about coach Lance is his ability to explain the science behind our voices and how we can control or manipulate our airway to hit certain notes/pitch. Although I am just a beginner, I am super excited to see how far I can go with Lance as my coach!

I work with the student to develop a curriculum based on their musical interests and my own teaching pedagogy. I strongly feel that for musicians to own their education, they must have a say in what they play. Assigning method books and mindless etudes to practice doesn't have nearly the same effect asking them "Ok, what kind of music do YOU like? What do you want to PLAY? What do you want to LEARN?".

I believe that students learn best when they are invested in a subject, and the best way to get them invested is to individually get to know each one, speak to them on their level, and get them playing music they're interested in.

About Jon

I'm a professional performer, educator, and recording artist. I received my Masters in Music from New Mexico State University, and my BA and BME from the College of Wooster in Ohio. Students can expect to improve their technique and performing repertoire within a matter of weeks. We will collabo

Jon is great! Initially I was concerned he was using a lot of the time assessing, but his suggestions were SO pertinent that I now appreciate that he spent a lot of time upfront to know me, my goals and my current level. I can tell his advice will be fruitful!

Jon is a superb music teacher for adult beginners. He's very encouraging, patient, and knowledgeable. His big smile paired with his easy going personality is very inviting, and his ability to meet his student where they are and keep the lesson on track is where he shined in our session(s). By the end of our first session I had specific goals and recommendations on how to make progress for where I'm at it my practice. I'd highly recommend John to anyone looking to pick up music.

"After years of taking saxophone lessons from the so called "great teachers" in Los Angeles I was really frustrated with my progress or lack of progress. Luckily I found Rick. In only a couple of months with Rick I was improvising at a level that I couldn’t even believe was possible. He has a system that is amazing and incredibly simple to learn and to apply to all the songs I love to play.
If you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced player, Rick can elevate your playing faster than you can imagine. I can't recommend him highly enough. Rick's and his system are simply incredible."
