Phillip Morin has been a full-time professional saxophonist based out of New Orleans since 2011, playing literally hundreds of gigs a year as well as working with local studios and touring with national acts.

Saxophone studies are balanced with technic and standard repertoire. Students are prepared to advance in band and ensembles. I improve embouchure and breath support. I can provide coaching for performances and competitions for both band music and jazz studies.

Learn your way with an instructor who puts student needs first. I have a Doctor of Music Arts degree in Saxophone Performance and 6 years of teaching experience working with beginners in 5th/6th grade through college music majors. As a performer, I play classical recitals, big band swing dance gigs, festivals, and more. As a teacher, I focus on what the student wants to learn - anything from basic foundation skills; scales and technique; theory; improvisation; and relevant repertoire. I place an emphasis on relaxation and removal of tension from the body which will dramatically improve the student's playing abilities.

I have Alto and Tenor Saxophones, and can teach you to play and read, improvise, and how to make it sing

I began playing saxophone at 13 yrs and in high school I was the the 2nd Chair Alto Saxophone for the Wind Ensemble. I've been teaching beginning and intermediate level saxophone for over 3 years now.
