It is my philosophy that learning and playing an instrument should be an enjoyable experience, and it is my goal to spark a love of music in all my students. I will have you playing in no time, and will also teach you the theory behind music that is so essential for any musician to understand.
Hello! My name is Sean H, and I am very passionate about helping my students accomplish their musical goals. I have been teaching for over six years and also have extensive experience as a performer. I have received several musical awards, including the prestigious Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and have a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies from San Diego State University.
As a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, composer, and bandleader, I have experience in many different aspects of music that I pass along to my students. I give lessons on upright and electric bass, guitar, piano, saxophone, and clarinet. In addition to this, I offer songwriting, ear training, and music theory lessons.
Sean was really on the spot with us. I am a beginning strings instructor, and my son didn't want to take lessons from anyone but me. Not only did Sean win me over with his pedagogy, but he won my son over as well.
I am a woodwind specialist with my primary instrument being the clarinet. But, I also teach beginning to intermediate strings, piano, and percussion. I also have experience with teaching and tutoring reading, Spanish, and Math because of my minor in Spanish and my MBA in Finance.
I'm an accomplished woodwind performer with professional experience performing in the genres of jazz, pop, and classical music. I've studied clarinet under Harry Skoler at Berklee College of Music, and have experience teaching beginning students, classical and jazz performance, and jazz improvisation.
I'm a Berklee College of Music-trained multi-instrumentalist with years of teaching experience. I have experience performing, composing, and/or recording on the genres of classical, jazz, Latin, rock and pop music, and I have extensive knowledge of jazz and classical music theory. I take great pride and pleasure in helping my students realize their innate musical abilities and in providing the structure and knowledge to allow them to expand those abilities in whatever direction their passion dictates.
I specialize in trad jazz and swing. I don’t teach THE INSTRUMENT - you can get that from others; I teach THE MUSIC. I can offer you something you won’t get elsewhere: an understanding of the role the clarinet and sax play in a trad or swing band. How do you choose what notes to play in the ensembles and on your solo? Whether you've played other styles and would like to learn trad/swing, you've played trad/swing but want to hone your skills, or you're new to music altogether, I CAN HELP YOU.
I’ve made my living for nearly thirty years specializing in jazz of the 1920s and ’30s - the genres commonly referred to as “traditional jazz” (or “trad”) and swing. I’m the clarinet instructor at the New Orleans Trad Jazz Camp, the San Diego Adult Trad Jazz Camp, and the newly founded New York Hot Jazz Camp.
I don’t actually teach THE INSTRUMENT - that’s something you can get from thousands of professional instructors. What I teach is THE MUSIC. I have something unique to offer you, which you won’t be able to get from other instructors: a comprehensive understanding of the role the clarinet and saxophone play in a traditional jazz or swing band. How do you choose what notes to play (or not play) during the ensembles and on your solo?
Whether you've played other styles of music and would like to enter the trad jazz/swing arena, you'

I began playing clarinet over 12 years ago and have been passionate about it ever since. I have taught music, as well as performed solos, duets, quartets, concerts, and more. I have a minor in music and have won scholarships for performance. As a teacher, I know how to make reading and playing music accessible and successful for all!
I am an experienced classroom teacher, tutor, caregiver, and leader. I have minors in Music and Spanish, a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I have also been in competitive public speaking for several years.
With a solid understanding of education from different perspectives -leadership, students, parents, teachers, and more - I know what it takes to help students achieve at their full potential. I ensure lessons and material are unique to the student, engaging and enjoyable, relevant, and catalysts for growth and success. Test preparation is also a skill I help students excel in. In fact, some of the schools I have been partnered with have even been featured on television.
As a competitive public speaker, I have won awards at the local, state, and national levels. I have also fo
unded, coached, and judged teams and speakers.
As a musician, I have played and/or competed in solos, duets, quartets, concerts and more. I have studied music theory, written my own music, won scholarships, and taught others.
My students vary in ability from autistic and nonverbal, to English language learners, to gifted and talented. I have taught students in rural, suburban, and urban environments in charter, public, and private schools. My students are from a variety of different cultures, religions, and backgrounds. The similarity they share is being proud of their achievements after working together!
My students typically tell me that I am one of their favorite teachers. I believe every student is capable of achievement, and it is my mission to help them get there. I see students greater than they see themselves, and in sharing this, they end up feeling more confident and empowered themselves. My lessons are fun, relevant, effective, and individualized. I can't wait to partner up with you! Let's make your goals happen!
My name is Jerry. I LOVE music and passing my knowledge on to others. I have played many different instruments in many different kinds of bands. It all one major thing in common, it was FUN! If you are not having fun while learning an instrument you won't want to learn. Lessons can be fun AND educational at the same time. I have had many parents tell me I'm one of the best teachers they have ever seen. (A couple of them were public school teachers themselves). I truly want my students to succeed and I will do everything in my power to help them accomplish that!

Jerry is a wonderful instructor. I wasn’t sure how online lessons would go but they have been seamless and fun and my son is making progress with the bugle. I would highly recommend this format and this teacher. The convenience and quality of instruction are excellent. We are signing up for more lessons and may move on to another instrument once my son feels confident on the bugle.

Jerry is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I’m looking forward to our series.
Whether your goal is to prepare for college auditions, to improve your performance in band class, or to simply learn the ropes of this amazing instrument, I can help you get where you want to go using a combination of my personal performance experience, the Rubank method, and supplementary materials designed by Dr. Joseph d'Auguste.
I am a music educator and professional performer in the NYC metro area. I hold a B.A. in music education with a concentration in woodwind performance.
I have taught students from ages 3 to 65, and I have the enthusiasm and resources to help you meet your specific musical goals. Whether your goal is college audition preparation or simply to build confidence and self-expression, I will work with you to develop a plan that fits your budget, schedule, and personal goals. My students have auditioned for and performed in regional honors ensembles, regional piano festivals, and community performances.
I teach piano, saxophone, clarinet, and flute to students of all different ages and experience levels, as well as ear training and music theory. I have been playing the saxophone for 13 years, and regularly perform in both classical and contempor
ary styles. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.
I have premiered works by contemporary composers such as Paul Gaita and Patrick Burns, given several solo recitals, and studied with NYC multiple woodwind artists Todd Groves, Dr. Joseph d'Auguste, and Vito Chiavuzzo.
My personal passion is bringing music to the lives of as many students as possible, regardless of their level or specific interests. Please reach out with any questions, and I hope to meet you soon!
I am student oriented with a focus in making sure music and performing in general is exciting for each of my students. Music shouldn’t feel stressful, it should be a chance to create and have fun! I will move at a pace that is best suited for each individual student.

"Matthew was so patient with my son during his first lesson. You can tell he really loves teaching children."
"Josh is a great teacher, and I highly recommend him as an instructor for both adults and youth. I took clarinet lessons many years ago as an elementary sc
hool student. I have long had an interest in returning to the instrument, so I recently signed up for a series of lessons with Josh. Although it had been several decades since I first played the clarinet, Josh helped me get comfortable with the instrument again and provided terrific instruction on all aspects of the clarinet and clarinet performance."
"Felicia was so professional and really helped me dissect and understand a difficult passage I’m working on. She is hilarious and has THE BEST analogies! I
really love her teaching style and her wide windows of availability! 12/10 would recommend!!!!"
"Great lesson from fantastic teacher."
"Corinne is very encouraging and works well with beginners!"
"Chelsea has been a great help for my son. He was having difficulty in class and was not happy to play it. He developed interest in this instrument after h
