Welcome! My goal is to offer students a clarinet lesson course which builds short- and long-term plans for improvement, a life-long appreciation for music, as well as patience and a work ethic that will be as valuable in music as it is in all other aspects of life. I believe that a weekly lesson is only a starting point for anyone seeking improvement in the musical craft, which is why I am building my approach to make myself accessible daily to guide and streamline the learning process. My instruction always keeps the focus on the excitement of music-making, while also placing a strong emphasis on fundamentals, which equip the student to approach and tackle their favorite styles of music.

About Tiberiu

Hello! I am an active teacher and performer, and specialize in solo, chamber, orchestral, and other ensemble repertoire. Every lesson that I teach is tailored specifically to each of my students' needs, focusing on areas of playing that need improvement and music that inspires rather than trying t

Ihave the privilege and pleasure of having Tiberiu Baicoianu as my clarinet teacher. As a performing member of the Cleveland Women’s Orchestra, a semi-professional orchestra I am in, it was important to me that I find a teacher whom I felt would challenge me and help increase my skills. Within 5 minutes of my first lesson, Tiberiu was able to identify several areas for me to work on. Within several months my sound developed more fully. In my lessons we look at etudes, and he is able to help me dissect the etude to see patterns and to understand how to play more musically. I feel so excited to play! Each week I feel enormous enthusiasm because Tiberiu inspires me to play better. He pushes me, and yet, he is also able to offer support and guidance so that I feel challenged, but not overwhelmed. Tiberiu spends time really studying how I am playing and offers ways to improve my technique. I was amazed when he asked me to send him recordings and questions during the week between lessons so that he could offer guidance. He is very dedicated to his work and truly wants to help his students become the best player they can be. I highly recommend Tiberiu to any person who wants to improve their skills and to learn from an outstanding teacher and musician.

I’m very fortunate to be able to learn from Michael. I’ve been working with him for two years now. Since COVID we have been doing lessons online and it’s working well. He is a very talented musician and teacher. Also a very kind and supportive person.

Michael introduced my 10 year old kid to saxophone. Lessons were in person and online. My daughter enjoyed them greatly and progressed well, learning to read music and play by ear. He was creative, nurturing and supportive to a new learner. He left quite a lasting impression. We were sad to see him leave the area.

I've been with Micheal for over two years now and he has helped me a ton. He's helped my technique, understanding of theory and the music I'm playing. I have recently started flute and he has given me great guidance on how I can improve and it has help tremendously.
Out of all the private lesson teachers I've had, Micheal is by far the best. I highly recommend him.

Clarinet:
A musical instrument family belonging to the group known as the woodwind instruments. It has a single-reed mouthpiece, a straight cylindrical tube with an almost cylindrical bore, and a flared bell. A person who plays a clarinet is called a clarinetist. It is a great instrument for orchestras, jazz, blues or even popular music.
Starting with the basics we will learn breathing and fingering techniques and how to read music. It won't be long before you are playing songs. As the student progresses theory and soloing will be taught if interested.

About Karen

Hi! My name is Karen D. I’ve had the pleasure of performing, singing, writing, and recording since I was seven years old. Besides being an Honor Graduate of Berklee School of Music, I have been a lifelong student of the international world-renowned instructors Dante Pavone and Charlie Banacos.

Ms. Karen did a pretty good job, she had ideas for the lesson and provided ideas for the next lesson. She went out of her way to help me with this new idea---------"music" and "reading music." If there was any short fall in the lesson it was on my side and my preparation failings. I have no problem recommending Ms. Karen to others. Regards, JC

Extremely knowledgeable! Karen is a superb guitar instructor. Honestly, I was struggling. Discouraged! She helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses, and moved me from beginner to intermediate in a matter of months. If you’re getting tired of learning from YouTube and smart phone apps, let Karen kick start your guitar playing. You’ll be glad you did. Thanks Karen!!

"I studied clarinet with William Rappaport when I was a graduate
student in music education at Georgia State University. He may be the
most deeply musical person I have ever known. My sense was that,
though he was a performer of the absolute highest caliber, he was
equally passionate about teaching.
When I initially contacted Bill to schedule lessons, I explained that
I was visually impaired. I wanted to share this information with him
upfront in the event that he had questions or concerns about teaching
me. I remember him saying clearly, “I am aware of the possibilities.”
That was all I needed to hear to feel comfortable entering his studio.
Bill encouraged me to take on any challenge in the clarinet
literature that interested me. He used every possible metaphor he
could think of to communicate ideas that were more easily accessed if
you could simply look at the printed page. He was always warm and
friendly, but focused, never wasting one second of our time together.
Following my work with Bill, I attended The University of Michigan
where, though I was a music education doctoral student, I was
instantly welcomed into one of the clarinet studios. Bill’s creative
work with me played an enormous role in making that happen. Now, I am
a community college professor, teaching a variety of classes including
a studio class for instrumental music students. I often find myself
using the same examples Bill employed with me to help my current
students. I am profoundly grateful for his unyielding commitment to my
growth when I was a student of his."

"Victoria is a wonderful teacher. I had no music training or experience, and out of the clear blue, I decided to learn to play the clarinet. Oh, I should point out that I’m an adult. I’m older than you; actually, I’m older than most people. I’m 65. If you think that’s too late to learn to play an instrument. Victoria will prove you wrong. Victoria took me from how-do-you-put-this-thing-together to playing a four and half minute song in one year. What was incredibly amazing was that every lesson was over Zoom. Victoria has a well-thought-out plan that accommodates whatever style of music you want to play. She is charming, engaging, and patient. If she could teach me to play the clarinet, she can you to play."

"Seth and I had a great first lesson. I haven't played in a long time and he gave me helpful pointers on how to improve my embouchure. He gave me positive feedback on my rhythm and constructive feedback on my tone. We worked through some songs together. Next time I will probably ask him to play some more for me so I can hear what I need to improve for a particular song. I highly recommend him."

My instruction from Carter has given me tools to achieve my goals with specific insights as to posture, embouchure position, tongue/oral cavity form, fingering, interpretation and more. I always received functional answers to my many questions."
