Experienced Music teacher of 8 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of their instrument and theory skills. I specialize in all styles. Typically, I use a variety of method books to pick from to meet the needs of the students. I also have many tools available to use during lessons.
My students have gone on to NYSSMA and on to college auditions successfully!

Learn to become a Professional performer in a number of styles including jazz, pop, soul, funk and classical. A confident and experienced teacher from beginner to advanced and to all ages. Lessons are tailored to each students goals and requirements and cover things like technique, improvisation, repertoire, theory, harmony and doubling.

I have played saxophone since I was in 5th grade. I have been in a variety of groups over the years; rock, funk, punk, jazz quartets and big-band jazz, and the experimental use of electronics. You will learn proper breath (dynamics) and embouchure control, tonguing techniques, standard and alternate fingerings, approaches to improvisation and assistance with a varied repertoire for performance. I own a 1967 Beuscher alto saxophone and an Elkhart C-tenor saxophone. My home studio has recording capability which I use to record lessons when they are needed for review. Ear training is a crucial part to music on any level, and I encourage playing by ear as an important element to improvisation and music appreciation. My lessons are fun, informative, and creative!

I started playing saxophone in 2013, playing in both my school's jazz band as well as concert band. Saxophone has been one of my top 3 primary instruments, and is one of my favorites to teach.

I have been training on the saxophone for upwards of twelve years! I have been giving lessons since 2015, and I am qualified to teach beginner to intermediate players. I've earned top chairs in my county, district, and state, and students of mine have gone on to do the same in their own ensembles! I have also played in select honors bands, such as the Great American Marching Band in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I am a skilled teacher, having served as a middle school teacher's assistant and summer camp music instructor. My prices are competitive because I simply want to share the joy of music with you or your student!
