Flute Lessons in Seven Trees. Amazing Teachers.

Studied Classical Flute Performance at the Bob Cole Conservatory of music for 2 years (though my education was cut short because of COVID 19), and I passed the audition to the Manhattan School of Music. I am an experienced flute teacher of 3 years and have taught beginning to intermediate levels. I would love to pass down what I've learned from my many previous flute teachers. I can help you get into the music school of your dreams, or we can simply play the flute and I'll help you sound better. I love all types of music, and I am open to whatever you might want to learn. Looking forward to meeting you, and I feel I have a lot to offer my future students.

I've been teaching beginning flute for over 30 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to assemble your instrument, make a sound on the head joint, and know where your fingers go. As time goes on you'll be able to read music and play simple songs. Any beginning flute book will get us started. In addition to your flute and book, you will also need a cleaning swab. As you progress, a a metronome may be helpful. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

I think the flute can produce such beautiful and colorful sounds and is a tool for great expression. Therefore, in lessons, covering all the basics of proper tone production, breath support, vibrato, musicality and technique will ensure a solid foundation with which even the highest levels of success can be built upon. I teach these concepts through the use of various exercises, etude/method books, as well as duet books which are incredibly essential for musical development and are also fun!

Taking flute lessons online is a great option at this time. I have taught private flute lessons for 47 years and have been a band instructor in the public schools. I emphasize good technique, sight-reading skills, improvisation and applying these skills to repertoire in preferred styles.
