Darrell helped me a lot to get a handle on my Ableton rig. I needed to set up midi tracks, locate presets to create cool sounds from plugins. Then I needed to export the audio of a couple of those tracks to import into a separate Pro Tools project. Lot of progress, thanks Darrell! -- Frank S

If you're looking for a true 5-star teacher, you've come to the right place. Corinne is encouraging, friendly, and methodical, never letting the small details in my playing pass me by. She is a very clear communicator and knows exactly what to say to advance my performance skills quickly. Outside of lessons, I know she is always practicing to become a better musician herself -- one of my favorite qualities in a teacher. I always have a great time with Corinne. Highly recommend!

The saxophone can be one of the funnest instruments to play, no questions asked! In order to reach that point it's important to have certain things in order such as: sound production, breath support, musicality, and technique. In lessons use a variety of exercises and method/etude books, playing duets together, as well as listening and ear training to give my students a well rounded approach to the saxophone and music helping them to become the best musician they can be.

I started with Bill almost two years ago and I was at about zero on the piano. He's helped me reach the point where I can play some standards and even improvise a little over them, and I look forward to improving even more. We began in person but the transition to remote lessons has been seamless.

Bill is patient, attentive, and a whole lot of fun to work with. He has a positive attitude and a great sense of humor, and he backs it up with strong motivational skills to keep you practicing and putting in the work to reach your goals.

Oh, and of course, he's got some incredible chops! He's a talented multi-instrumentalist and a beast on the saxophone. His love of music and knowledge of jazz is sure to rub off on you.

Started my saxophone journey with Bill with a zero experience in music, except for few songs on the guitar. Then the pandemic (corona) hit and we were forced to move to online sessions. I must say, the virtual teaching has not stopped Bill from delivering EXCEPTIONAL and THOROUGH sessions. I have seen significant improvements in my playing skills since we started, exceeding any of my expectations. Especially if you are concerned about online saxophone sessions, I have personally encountered no issues whatsoever and I actually look forward to our weekly zoom calls. Overall, Bill's expertise is matched by his kindness and patience and I am sure you will agree with me.

"I'm a more "Senior" student who decided that learning the saxophone needed to be at the top of my "Bucket List". I recognize adult students can be particularly challenging because they're a bit more rigid in what they want. Carl is the perfect instructor for all ages. First he's extremely knowledgeable, making you confident he's leading you down the right path. He's has so much diversity in both instruments and styles that he's able to accommodate anyone. With this, he has been able to tailor lessons, mixing the basics with my desire to learn popular jazz tunes. He's picked up on the fact that I'm an engineer and have to understand everything I'm taught, so he's included music theory that makes the lessons, steps, and songs take on a more complete meaning (and improving retention). He's extremely patient and encouraging, as some of my lessons are after very long and tough work days; yet, he knows how to challenge you to ensure continued progress. It's coming up on a year that he's been my instructor and he’s made me so confident I'll stick with playing, that I upgraded to a professional instrument. Superb instructor."

He is great to work with, and his warm personality makes every encounter welcoming. His versatility and ability to perform many different styles is what makes him a cut above the rest. If you're interested in playing jazz, classical, pop, R&B or funk styles, Jon can help you achieve your goals!"

Profile_109204_pi_Steve%20Morell
"I started taking saxophone lessons from Steve in Fall 2017 after not picking up the horn in 10 years. He is very knowledgeable in theory and technique and has been extremely beneficial in helping me get my chops back up par. In these lessons I did not have much direction for Steve on what I'd like to accomplish but that wasn't an issue for him as he was able to make each lesson worth while by shedding light on harmony theory and creating lines as well as different techniques to focus on to improve my playing.

I just bought an additional 10 lessons and had my first lesson of 2018 with Steve this May and am very happy with my decision. He is giving me great feedback on charts I am playing and really giving me a sounding board to ask questions and grow as a musician within this instrument (alto). I personally have a fairly solid foundation in music theory but if you are new to music theory Steve can break that down for you step by step.

I look forward to continuing my lessons with Steve and am already seeing the benefits of having a great teacher."

One example is that the saxophone is the only band instrument that uses a neck strap. Unfortunately, the neck strap is often the most overlooked aspect of playing the instrument.
