Studied Clarinet at Gulf Coast College in Panama City, Florida and studied privately with Richard Potter, former Principle clarinetist with the Altoona Symphony and Charles Frahm, former clarinetist with the Indianapolis Symphony.

I can teach what you need to know from band class, playing church to performing that big audition. Improvisation and Dixieland as well.

I work with the student to develop a curriculum based on their musical interests and my own teaching pedagogy. I strongly feel that for musicians to own their education, they must have a say in what they play. Assigning method books and mindless etudes to practice doesn't have nearly the same effect asking them "Ok, what kind of music do YOU like? What do you want to PLAY? What do you want to LEARN?".

I believe that students learn best when they are invested in a subject, and the best way to get them invested is to individually get to know each one, speak to them on their level, and get them playing music they're interested in.

I began playing clarinet over 12 years ago and have been passionate about it ever since. I have taught music, as well as performed solos, duets, quartets, concerts, and more. I have a minor in music and have won scholarships for performance. As a teacher, I know how to make reading and playing music accessible and successful for all!

I have been playing clarinet for over 15 years, having studied with both professional performers and university professors. My focus is on the blending of technique and musicality, and becoming a well-rounded musician as both a performer and a collaborator.
