Saxophone is my life! I have played saxophone for 20 years and nothing makes me happier than sharing my knowledge with others. I have a BM Jazz Studies/Saxophone Performance from Western Michigan University.
While my passion is jazz, I also have plenty of classical experience. I love teaching saxophone!!

Music literacy, technique, theory, repertoire, style, and creative expression. Music is a source of fun and community, and I do my best to impart that on each student.

Experienced saxophone teacher/performer of 15 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of fundmental physical and musical skills. I specialize in classiclal and jazz typically use Rubank and Aebersold books, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: tuner, metronome.

I have over 5 years of experience playing the saxophone and play the soprano, alto and tenor. I have performed as a soloist, in an wind ensemble setting and with jazz ensembles. I hold a Licentiate (LTCL) Diploma (2009) and a Grade 8 Certificate on Flute (2008) from Trinity College London and apply the same learning principles and technique to the saxophone.

I focus on the fundamentals (tone, technique and timing) using my own personalized approach to methods such as long tones, scales/ arpeggios and technical studies. I also allow students to be creative and express themselves through the art of music.

Music is, and has always been, an obsession for me.

No one had to force me to practice, or transcribe, or listen. It's just something I love to do.

You can force yourself to learn music. But it's so much easier, and more fulfilling, when it's something that excites you; when you can't wait to pick up the horn.

Every student has their own version of this: a lens through which everything about music feels exciting and natural. My job as a teacher is to help you discover it.

For beginners, you might call this developing an interest or passion for music. Whether you're young or old, this is one of my favorite challenges as a teacher.

For advanced players, it may be more about finding your voice, or dealing with issues of ego, purpose, technique, etc. Having spent years studying with some of the best musicians in the world (Joe Lovano, Danilo Perez, John Patittucci, Kenny Werner, George Garzone, and others), I combine lessons from the masters with my own approach to help ...

I have many unique experiences as a woodwind player and have a wide range of skills that I’m happy to pass onto my students! In particular, I believe that in order to perform it’s necessary to fully understand your instrument and I do not accept “pseudo-explanations” of what proper technique is or should be. I can help you learn anything you want about the saxophone by presenting information in a personal and easily digestible way!
