I have a degree in music, and have taught at three summer camps three music stores and two universities.

I have been teaching guitar since 1990. I teach ages 9 and up, and I aim to tailor lessons to work with your natural strengths and learning style.

I offer note-reading but it is optional. We can study guitar using tablature and chord diagrams. The important thing is to make great music, enjoy the process, play songs you like, make steady progress and become independent.

If I teach you well, eventually you won't need me very much- you'll be able to figure things out on your own,

I started playing guitar when I was 4. I've played classical, rock, a bit of jazz, folk, a little bluegrass, and fingerstyle. I love the guitar and I love teaching!

About Carla

Music is my LIFE! After more than 25 years of teaching at music camps, music stores, 3 colleges and my home, I completely understand that the lessons are all about YOU, the student: what you want to learn, taught to you in a way that works for your brain and personality. And if you don't know

Carla's teaching technique was perfect for me. I have played the guitar for longer than I care to admit and even I was tired of hearing my same old stuff. She incrementally moved me forward line by line, measure by measure to where I now have several fingerpicking style numbers in my portfolio.

Playing for my own enjoyment is now enjoyable once again.

My lessons were online and very effective - when I got stuck, Carla would send me a sample audio clip of her playing the difficult part which was a godsend for me in how I learn new musical things.

I highly recommend Carla and her Carlalology method of guitar teaching. You won't be disappointed.

i originally selected carla as my instructor based on her skills, resume, other students comments etc. listed on the website. shortly after my lessons began i realized she was a vital resource for guidance, knowledge and material all of which would enable me to grow as a musician. she is talented, smart, inspirational, funny and more, what else could you ask for?!!!!

I tailor my lessons to meet student goals. I help students learn basic chords and strumming patterns, learn to sing while playing, understand how to read notes, tabs and chord charts, understand power chords and basic music theory, play popular songs of the past or present, learn basic scales and improvisation skills, and even write their own songs! You can search my music on Spotify or iTunes for a sample of my style. My album is called "Songs from Pablo's Attic."

About Peter

I love sharing knowledge! Math has always been a passion for me, and I competed in several math competitions even in elementary school. Since then I have tutored many students in math from a fourth grade level to college math. I scored a 34 on the ACT and I enjoy helping others achieve their dreams

Peter has an excellent lesson plan waiting for you on day one with easy to follow study material. You will learn how to properly speak, read, and write in Italian in no time. He keeps track of your progress and assigns homework to increase your proficiency and vocabulary. He is a wealth of knowledge about the language and the culture; so much that he even knows how it changes throughout the country and will educate you on it. His experience in Italy was such a benefit for me because where I now live in Italy, the locals speak Neapolitan Italian and he was able to help me adjust to my new surroundings and even find a home! I recommend that you choose Peter as your new Italian instructor! You will not regret it!

"I was very lucky to find Jesse. This guy knows what he is doing. I had another guitar teacher that had no lesson plan or real approach. Jesse got me on track and gave me the tools I needed to start playing from the beginning. Don't waste your time on other teachers if you really want to learn go with Jesse."

"For anyone out there looking to get into either 1) playing guitar with no prior experience or 2) become an "advanced" player - there is no doubt in my mind that Rob should be your first consideration. I have only been with rob for one lesson, but I am left with no doubt that he is far above the average. I will continue to provide feedback here when I see fit. But 5 stars based on first impressions. Great guy. Great skills. Great articulation of concepts and extremely knowledgeable. Extremely."

"Jonathan is fantastic with the kids - they came out excited to learn their instrument! He is using techniques that are more fun than what they previously had in lessons with other teachers. He recognizes the need to make it fun and current while learning at the same time. This makes the kids want to keep going and makes their instrument/music relevant to them. He is very knowledgeable and professional. We are thrilled to have him as our instructor!"
