I've taught guitar to many friends and family who have wanted to learn. I'm by no means a certified guitar teacher but I have been playing for the last 5 years and I can teach the basics to intermediate level, but I would just like to teach beginner level for a while before I begin teaching intermediate just so I can get a hang of teaching and where students are at. I mostly play acoustic guitar and use my fingers to pick strings. I look forward to teaching! Thanks!

I have had the great opportunity to teach all levels for over 15 years in the United Kingdom, South Africa and the USA. I have held positions as guitar teacher at many Colleges, Universities and Companies around the UK and USA. I have worked in the distant learning department at the Manhattan School of Music, teaching students around the country from their studio base. With many of my students going onto music schools such as The New School, NYC, Queens College, and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire I believe that I have a wide range of experience with all age ranges from beginners to beyond advanced. I focus on making the lessons as fun and engaging as possible whilst keeping on track to certain goals set by myself and the student throughout the year.

I just recently started with Dee. She is doing a great job of helping me realistically assess my performance, and constructively set goals to improve the aspects that need work. It's been fun and very helpful.

Our 8 year old son had his first Guitar lesson with Dee this past weekend, and she was amazing. She wasted no time getting down to brass tacks with our son, showing him the various parts of the guitar, how to hold it and within minutes he knew two chords. She was able to keep our kiddo engaged, offered great praise and positive feedback/reinforcement and kept him on task for the entire 45 minute lesson. We could not be happier and cannot wait to see what he learns during his next lessons with her!

Hello my name is Lance, and I will be your instructor. My singular goal is simple: I want to give you the gift of music. If you are a beginner, I can help you build a foundational understanding of playing through a song. If you are an experienced player, I can help you sharpen your skills so you can go to the next level. What I love about teaching is that the more I do it, the more I learn as well. I look forward to meeting you and learning together.

"When I heard that the lead guitarist for one of my favorite bands, Native Construct, was offering lessons, I knew I had to give it a try. Having had only a year of experience beforehand, my skills were shaky to say the least. I've taken weekly .lessons for a few months and have seen a marked improvement in my fundamental skills. Not only does Poh Hock create a great learning environment, but he also creates a very relaxed one. If I didn't improve as much as he thought I should've over the course of a week, he didn't get on me about practicing more. Instead, he worked with me to determine where I was struggling and then would help me overcome it. I really can't recommend Poh Hock enough."

"Where to begin?

Mr. Burns has been instrumental (no pun intended), in the development of my guitar playing. I was already a professional studio musician when I encountered Jake. He was playing live at a venue I happened to walk into one evening. After the show, I approached Jake. We had a lengthy discussion on music philosophy, style, and feel.

It was apparent to me, that if I was serious about becoming familiar with more complicated styles of play, Jake would be the man to help me achieve my goals. Jake has been a wonderful friend & mentor. You will not find a more professional, efficient & fun instructor. Mr. Burns is warm & inviting! He will help you reach your goals at "any" level of musicianship."
