I've really enjoyed working with Joel! He has a lot of in-depth knowledge of complex playing and writing techniques, but he's also been great at teaching me (a beginner) the basics. He always has great tips and exercises to work on in between lessons which motivates me to keep practicing. Really nice guy.
Annelisa
Really great guy to work with and learn from! He explains everything well and has come up with great exercises/lessons for us to do. I’m picking guitar up pretty well learning from him. I feel like he’s really helping to set me up to now learn more independently at home

Vinny has given lessons to my son for 3 years in the Chicagoland area. He started in 7th grade. My son made the highest level of Wind Ensemble when entering high school as a freshman. I highly recommend Vinny. Vinny works on your child's school music and he also gives a lesson that you need to accomplish. Vinny is a likable person, great with kids, he has this "cool" vibe to him that makes you smile and the kids relate to him very well. I suggest you try him out!

Hey! Nothing matters to me more than the music community, and especially the local music community. It's important for me to understand my students individually and create lesson plans that are tailored to the individual. Learning is meant to be fun. I love using references, analogies, and tools that match the student, creating a learning environment that is very comfortable. What makes me unique is I often follow up my students through text or phone call to assess learning. It's important to me to follow up throughout the week and answer questions at anytime. I like to think of my students as friends!

About Chivan

Hey! My music journey began 9 years ago, when I learned my first Taylor Swift song on the guitar. Fast forward, I was able to translate my music knowledge into ukulele, bass, music theory, ear-training, percussion, and piano. After receiving my Associates in Arts at South Puget Sound Community Co

Chivan is a fantastic guitar teacher, and not to mention a rockstar! He’s very laid back and relaxed when he teaches, makes you feel very comfortable and doesn’t have a hint of judgement about him. 10/10 would take lessons from him again.

"I am a novice guitar player and took lessons from Matt for 10 weeks to try to take my playing up a notch. Matt's teaching style is excellent and was driven by what I wanted. He didn't try to force any particular curriculum but built the lessons around what I wanted to learn. He taught me techniques to learn songs I wanted to play and even mixed in some music theory. I had asked to learn a little theory and Matt made it really interesting. I highly recommend Matt as a guitar instructor!"
