Jon is AWESOME! His patient yet enthusiastic demeanor made my 9yr old look forward to her lessons, and really enjoy learning! I plan to continue with him as long as her interest holds!!!!

We love what Jon has taught our son. Our son has progressed so much in the past couple of years, and still enjoys meeting with his teacher despite him being a teenager. When you find a good teacher, you do all you can to stay with them.

At 52 years old, my wife treated to lessons for Christmas. I haven't played in 30 years. Although, I have had a few lessons with several different instructors back in my 20's, I never felt any direction. I always heard 'you got it. just keep playing'. Unfortunately, I stopped as nothing made sense.
I have learned a ton from Jon in only 5 lessons. Bits and pieces are all quickly coming together. I have a long way to go, but know more already than I ever have. Jon is fun, friendly, and has a great demeanor for teaching. If he has the patience to teach me, he's the right guy for you.

Hello! I have been teaching guitar for over 7 years now. Form beginners to advanced students I make it my duty to find the students interests and help them develop their own sound. As a Berklee College of Music graduate I have studied composition and music production, skills that I am happy to teach any student. In addition to teaching guitar my students have the option to learn music theory, as well as recording and mixing original compositions that we develop together in class and as homework assignments (DAWs - Logic & Protools). My specialities include Blues, Classic Rock, Jazz & electronic beat production.

About Farrokh

I have been playing guitar, piano, bass, ukulele and drums for 11 years now (teaching for 8 years). As a teenager I started playing all kinds of music and quickly became obsessed. At the age of 21 (2013) I went to Berklee College of Music where I studied guitar, composition and music production fo

I'm not young, and I'm hard to teach music theory to, but he was patient, and is helping me figure a way into learning important stuff that I find kinda dry and not fun to practice. (I'm a good player, but music theory is very challenging to me.)

Through the foundation I've gained by the influences of Mel Bay, Hal Leonard, and Suzuki musical instruction methods, I compile my own teaching materials. Using personally constructed guitar lessons, I demonstrate, instruct, and guide the student based on my assessment of their individual needs, skill level, and progress. Lessons are formulated in Modules, and advancement through them is based on the student's personal aptitude, skill level, and practice commitment. Learning is accomplished by ear as well as through essential methods of musical notation (tablature, 5-line staff, rhythmic comprehension). Students are trained to perform written music as well as to write and express the music within themselves.
I'm an encouraging and motivating guitar teacher with a casual relaxed approach. Teaching new guitarists is very rewarding to me. To see the light come on and watch a student perform a song, express themselves musically, and create their own composition is an awesome experience.

I'm enjoying my lessons with Scott. He has taught me a lot. He makes playing and learning exciting. I can't wait for my next lesson.

I started with Scott as a newbie and he has definitely helped me grow as a guitarist. He takes time and makes things easier to learn. As complicated learning can be, he simplifies it and breaks it down. When I feel like I’m not progressing he always shows me how I am. His modules are easy to follow. His teaching style is compatible with all types of learners whether you are visual, hands on or a listener. It’s not just business with him. He’s always available for questions after or between lessons. He’s knowledgeable in equipment so don’t hesitate to ask for some advice on what to buy. He’s affordable and lesson times are flexible. I highly recommend him for all ages and learning needs.

"I'd like to sing high praises for my guitar instructor Matthew H. I'm an older player with a life long fantasy of being a rock star. Well, with Matthews patience and teaching abilities he has me on my way!

I've been taking lessons for about 4-5 months and have been improving with each lesson. The combination of learning music theory along with technique has allowed me to progress to being able to play some of my favorite musicians riffs. Along way to go but it's really fun learning with Matthew."

"Aaron’s has been such a great teacher for my son – he is encouraging, optimistic, and a great listener. Aaron has been perceptive about what motivates Jasper and so he has found a great mix for each lesson of theory, technique, and fun exploration of new music concepts. He has adapted his style for where my son is on his learning journey so that he’s always moving forward and enjoying both practice and lesson time. From after the first day with Aaron he has always looked forward to going to his lessons. Since Aaron is an experienced and active professional musician, he shares what he knows is most important, practically and technically, across many music genres, and this suits my son’s curious nature. We feel really lucky to have found Aaron – he’s been positive, interesting, professional, friendly, and challenging. What else could you want in a teacher?"

"I've been playing guitar for 28 years and Robert has done more to advance my playing in the last 5 months than anything else I've done over that time. Whether online or in person, Robert has a great mix of laid back attitude with a task-master's approach; he encourages his students to have fun with the guitar, but to take it and their work with it seriously. In a really short time, I've picked up a wealth of music theory and my technique has improved dramatically. Most importantly, I'm having more fun playing than I have in years. I can't recommend Robert highly enough."

5 Things I Wish I Knew Before Taking Video Guitar Lessons

A quick search for “video guitar lessons” will reveal thousands of results on how to play the guitar. For many students it can be overwhelming to sort through countless video lessons to find the one with the information they’re looking for. As a beginner, it can also be difficult to determine when you are or aren’t getting accurate information. Although there certainly isn’t a shortage of video guitar lessons out there, you shouldn’t rely on pre-recorded lessons alone to lear …
