Jeremy was great! My daughter’s first lesson went very well. Her first instructor joined the military, so we were left to select someone new. By God’s grace and a lot of help from Michael at TakeLessons, we landed on Jeremy’s profile. We couldn’t have gotten a better instructor the second time around! It’s like an extension of the first lessons! Jeremy is knowledgeable, kind, sincere, laid back, patient, and encouraging. What more could we ask for? As a mother, I really appreciate his communication with me via phone and email. If you are looking for a great instructor, you can do no better than Jeremy!

Taking up Ukulele was a great way to look at music from a new perspective. I love teaching ukulele to younger kids who cannot make chords on a guitar quite yet as well as adults who are serious musicians that have been playing for years. I welcome everyone from the novice to the hobbyist and do my best work with student requests.

Jesse Torre began studying guitar at the age of ten, and in his studies has developed an unwitting passion for playing and teaching. Bay Area native Jesse has studied with classical guitarist Angel Miguel Lejarza Leo, flamenco guitar virtuoso Jason McGuire, and has worked under the mindful instruction of classical guitarist Nicholas Goluses at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, New York. There Jesse completed his Bachelors in Music (Classical Performance) with distinction, and was honored with a Performer’s Certificate, demonstrating excellence in guitar performance. During his undergraduate studies, Jesse performed in masterclasses led by the prestigious GFA winner, Tengyue Zhang, and Bach expert, Paul Galbraith. His time at Eastman has given him a strong background in music theory; he is an advocate for the written and aural analysis of music, and stresses the importance of composition and instrumental exploration. As a performer and teacher, Jesse specializes in ...

About Jesse

I love music and have been composing and performing for many years. And although I love to compose and perform, teaching is probably my favorite aspect of working in music. Jesse is an excellent teacher. He is calm, warm and incredibly patient with my 6 year old daughter. After having a thoughtful discussion about how we should start lessons, we agreed on an approach that would further encourage her natural enthusiasm for music. She loves it. Jesse has also been very flexible with offering zoom and in person classes. I have been really impressed with how well he holds my daughter’s attention even over zoom. He is a wonderful teacher and I could not recommend him more.

Jesse masters the art of making teaching be FUN! He is an incredible musician, but knows how to connect with kids to open up their world to love and learn music. My 6 year old son and 7 year old daughter both do ukulele lessons with Jesse, and it’s a highlight of their week. As a parent, I’m excited to have them learning an instrument, and at the same time, I see it building their confidence too. Being brave to practice singing and playing the instrument, despite feeling nervous about it. Jesse has a beautiful way of connecting to the kids with humor and encouragement, so they feel both comfortable and confident. I’m so happy we started music lessons with Jesse, and honestly cannot recommend him enough!!

Jesse structures lessons for the skill of the student and the direction the student wants to go in. Emphasizing the students abilities. He is knowledgeable in all aspects of music. Jesse explains concepts well and also ensures the student understands what is being thought. Great guitarist and great teacher.

I structure most lessons according to the following:
- Basics of ukulele

Ms. Tammy is an excellent teacher. She’s passionate about her profession and makes her lessons fun for my son. My son is 4 years old and is taking her class online. At first I thought he would be intimidated, but teacher Tammy did a great job and eased my son into it. My son has been inspired and enjoys the lessons. Its also built his confidence and esteem. He finds joy in playing for his classmates, friends, and family.

We're having fun learning with Ms. Tammy. Her energy, approach and enthusiasm are just right to encourage, yet challenge my kids. She listens and addresses any questions or concerns that I may have. I also appreciate that she modifies sheet music to meet individual specific needs and avoids the cookie-cutter approach. Thanks, Ms. Tammy!

"Jordan is an outstanding teacher! I don't think I could ask for anything more in a ukulele teacher. I am an adult learner who requested structured learning. Jordan provides that structure during lessons and homework assignments but allows for individual initiative and efforts. He listens to my goals and helps me accomplish them by moving me ahead at a good pace and continually helping me fine tune what I have already learned. He is not intimidating and wants to see me have fun playing music. He also provides an environment for learning good musical habits and techniques."

"I have taken a lot of lessons over the years. I grew up playing piano and cello, and I’m a professional singer. I knew first hand what a phenomenal musician Nick Russo was, and I had a hunch that he would be a marvelous teacher as well.

Now that I’ve been taking ukulele lessons with Nick for the last three months, it’s clear my hunch was correct. He’s a phenomenal teacher. Patient, clear, willing to explain things in multiple ways. He’s also extremely flexible. Always willing to go in a different direction if that’s what’s needed. And, most of all, he wants his students to have fun with their instrument and he’s always looking for ways to ensure that happens.

Nick is a musician with a huge musical range. In addition to playing many instruments Nick has a broad and deep knowledge of many different musical traditions. It brings a richness to his offering as a teacher which are hard to match.

I can’t recommend Nick highly enough. A wonderful teacher and a kind, compassionate person. If you’re looking for a teacher, you can’t go wrong by choosing to work with Nick!"

"I took Uke classes with Grant and truly enjoyed them because he’s very patient and doesn’t rush-force learning. I highly recommend Grant to anyone who wants to learn to play the musical instruments he plays. I’m a stroke-brain injury survivor and was hesitant to take Ukelele classes, but once I saw I was making progress, I felt more confident about continuing classes.
Highly recommend Grant,
