Sheralee taught my daughter recorder. My husband decided to join her. Her lessons were reasonably priced, and they both made great progress under her professional and encouraging guidance.

Both of my kids started taking lessons with Mrs. Sheralee. My son was 6 and daughter was 5 when they started. I'm so Thankful to Sheralee for instilling the love for piano. They both looked forward to their piano lessons each week. I just love Sheralee's energy, her spirit, her kindness, her patience and her method. Sheralee is amazing with children and she creates an environment that is friendly and inspiring.

Sheralee has taught piano to both of my daughters. One has taken lessons for the past 5 years, the other for 2 years (both started when they were 6 years old). She teaches them from a variety of books each week, covering theory, finger exercises, John Schaum Piano Course, and hymns. As a Christian, Sheralee prays with them before each lesson, and inspires them to use their talent and abilities for the Lord. She does this by encouraging and preparing them to play for others (church, recitals, assisted care facilities, etc.). We have been very pleased with her kind and gentle, yet persistent manner. My daughters really like her and have truly blossomed under her direction!

First thing I do before first day of class is send out a welcoming greeting via email and call a few days before first lesson. We Briefly discuss and establishing the learning goals for the course based on the visual literacy, technical, and intellectual competencies the students should achieve by the end of a period is ideal for me to design the course or update an existing course for the student's desired outcomes. The syllabus and the schedule are completed along with a comprehensive strategy for what will take place during class. Music lessons include: warm ups, exercises, technical and theory work, solfeggio (sight-singing), ear training, repertoire musical coaching, composition writing, preparation for performances and more.

This class is intended for those who have never played a `ukulele, a beginner or continuing student. Yao will learn how to hold, tune, and play the `ukulele for sing-alongs. Basic theory such as rhythmic values (whole, half, quarter, eighth notes), time signatures, etc. will be introduced. You should be able to play several different basic strumming styles, read and understand `ukulele chord charts, transpose songs into other keys, and play along to a large selection of songs, or play at least one song all the way through!

For intermediate students, you will work on more advanced arrangements of songs, strumming styles, increase your chord vocabulary and generally gain a greater knowledge of the `ukulele. You will also learn how to read tablature to play simple melody lines. It will help if you are familiar with the following music theory concepts: key signature (especially the keys of C, F, and G), time signature (3/4, 4/4 and 6/8), and rhythmic values including whole, half, ...

Derek is a very knowledgable instructor, easy to talk to, and I found his teaching technique is very motivating. He set realistic practice goals for the next session, which will require me to do my part, but that's the reason we show up, to learn how to play a musical instrument.
I highly recommend him.

I'm re-learning the piano with David and he has changed my relationship to music for the better. After only a few lessons with David I've gotten a greater understanding of music theory than I had in my few years of early piano training. He is patient and flexible with his style of teaching. If it's taking me awhile to understand a concept he's good at explaining it more clearly. I definitely recommend him for learning the piano!

David is a highly skilled multi-instrumentalist and producer. I was introduced when he recorded an EP for my band and since then, we've spent many an evening talking about performing, recording, teaching and making music. He is kind, patient and extremely knowledgable about his craft. I always learn something new, interesting and immediately applicable to my playing when I work with him. I've had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of his students and they have always been exceptionally professional and prepared. I highly recommend David for lessons in whatever discipline you request - the crossover knowledge from all of his experiences will be invaluable to you.

"Rick taught our 7-year old son for quite a few months, and did a fantastic job. We were pleased with his energy, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with young people.

We were sad when our son decided that he'd like to take a break from music and play more tennis, but hope that this, his first musical experience, will inspire him to return to it at some later point.

I highly recommend Rick."

"Sign up for classes with John. Just do it, and you won't regret it.

Whatever the opposite of musically-gifted is, that is what I am. I'm an adult beginner in the truest sense of the word - never read sheet music, couldn't hold a beat to save my life, and hadn't played an instrument. EVER. That's why I'm still amazed that I've learned to play a couple of simple songs after a few lessons with John - it's a great achievement on his part!

John has the patience of a saint and a great ability to teach. If I don't understand a concept or have difficulty contorting my fingers to hold a certain chord, he shows me a different way and can break it down to simpler terms. He's really a great teacher. On top of that, he's laid back, approachable, amiable, and very understanding of my busy work schedule. He makes sure I leave each lesson with enough homework to practice and gives me constructive criticism to work on my technique. Like another reviewer said, John is really worth his weight in gold!!"
