I'm an experienced player and Danny taught me some cool new tricks, like tapping, and how to use guitar pedals more effectively. He is a great guy and really cares.

Danny is an excellent teacher. He is patient, encouraging, and a lot of fun. He takes the time to plan lessons around the songs and styles that I'm interested in. He is knowledgeable and passionate about music, and the way he explains basic music theory has helped me understand it so much more than I thought I would. Learning a new instrument with Danny has been stress-free and inspiring. I highly recommend him!

As everyone is different with different goals, ages, and levels of proficiency so to is my method of instruction for each individual... Beginners will expect to quickly begin enjoying the instrument without intimidation by it ... they will learn... 1. Proper left and right hand, arm, and body positioning. 2. Proper (not common !) pick grip and angles. 3. Strongly "suggested" reading of music. 4. How to play notes and first position chords. 5. Rhythm focus to play along with all previously listed to some of their favorite songs... An intermediate to advanced Classical student may expect a doses of technique, sight reading, and theory within a particular lesson for say, ABRSM exam prep.. An Intermediate to Advanced Blues, Rock, or Shred student may expect more focus on scale and arpeggio applications for improvisation.

About Don
Hi,
My name is Don and have been teaching guitar for many years. Currently I teach at the New York School of Music in Walden, N.Y. as well as at my home studio. From 2003 -early 2015 I was a staff instructor at Imperial Guitar and Soundworks of Newburgh, N.Y.
I teach all levels and ages for such styles as Classical/Flamenco Guitar(including ABRSM EXAM PREP.), Blues, Rock, Shred, Metal, Jazz, Country, and General Instruction for Beginners and those just wanting "to know how to play some tunes.".
I tailor instruction to my students' goals... not mine. Goal #1..we're having fun as we learn !.. this is not to be confused with Navy Seals Training !

Years ago I took Guitar Lessons at a local music store ( a very prominent one) as a raw beginner and quickly became frustrated with my lack of progress. Although my teacher was a great player and "very hot" to look at I soon began to feel like I was merely his "practice dummy."... I'd play the chords he showed me, endlessly,... while he seemed to be just practicing his solo playing. ... I then tried On-Line Lessons from various sites which were actually even less helpful and soon just lost interest completely.
A friend of mine said she had taken lessons from a Don DeBold for about 5 years before going off to college and highly recommended him.
I've now been taking lessons from Don for almost 2 years and having a blast ! I've learned how to play along with most of my favorite songs (mainly Blues and Rock) and now I'm learning to play Solo Guitar that needs no accompaniment !
Unlike my first teacher, during many lessons Don barely plays or even has his Strat on his lap because he's busy concentrating on what I'm doing !
He's a stickler yet lots of fun at the same time> I super recommend him as a Guitar and Music Teacher !!! Aneiah J.

The first thing I do when I meet a student is to interview the student and find out why they want to learn how to play the guitar and what are some of their goals. Then I find out what style of music they would like to learn. I have the student come up with ten songs they would like to learn. I take this information and structure future guitar lessons around the essential elements of these songs. I design each lesson to teach the specific skills required to learn those songs. I create an organized binder guitar workbook and having a teaching degree I create all of the lessons to meet each students individual needs that include lessons on theory, technique, chords, rhythm, scales, arpeggios, songs, song form, and exercises etc. I use a color coded method to teach scales, chords and theory that I created that help students not only understand scales but also they are able to see visually where chords come from. Depending on the interests of the student I can cover a wide variety of playing styles. However, all students learn proper left hand technique and basic musicianship (reading, ear training) as well as a composition-focused approach to music theory to get students writing their own songs quickly.

About Scott
Originally from Anchorage, Alaska where I made my living teaching music to, I moved south in search of warmer climates over 6 years ago. Utilizing a diverse musical background and a deep knowledge of theory I strive to provide my students with a unique and tailored lesson plan to help them realize their wildest musical dreams.

As a songwriter and performer for over 20 years I have worked with punk bands, jazz bands, traditional Irish folk bands, psychedelic jazz punk, and as a solo classical performer including performing with the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, and for the world famous Romero family during their Anchorage masterclass.

As a composer and a professional in the entertainment business I have worked for Warner Music in their engineering department for 5 years, learning the insides of the music business. Have studied under
professional composers both at UCLA and privately, interned with Hans Zimmer, and am also currently assisting on a Netflix show for Dreamworks Animation.

My students can expect to learn classical technique and composition, as well as the genres that interest them the most. Let’s make music fun together!

I encourage students to grow and develop as a musician - not just a guitar player. It's important to understand the use of space, technique, groove & taste.

As a multi-instrumentalist, producer & composer - I've been able to explore and experience the industry as a performer and recording artist. As a graduate of Berklee College of Music, I also expect to reflect and draw knowledge to share with my students. In a friendly and musical environment, let's learn!

About Ed
Ed, originally from Bath, England started Spanish guitar lessons at the age of 7; he was later encouraged and inspired to pursue various aspects within the musical world, from writing and production to performing as an artist. Going back and forth between acoustic and electric guitar, Ed has drawn inspiration from many places around the world that has led him to compose for orchestras, produce records and play in pop groups and rock bands. Having achieved a degree from Berklee College of Music with great honours, he now continues his career in New York City where he resides as of August 2016. Ed has recorded guitar on releases from bands such as alt-J and Chaz French. Some experiences include a recording session set up by the Red Bull Music Academy whereas on the live performance front, accompanying the Boston Pops and opening for Maroon
5 and Journey.

I am a young, determined guitarist who has been playing for 10 years, with a focus on chords and rhythm. I have been a tutor, I am an Eagle Scout and am working towards a university degree, so my communication skills are well tailored for teaching. I know how to present information in an organized, structured fashion and will assess your personal goals to see how we can work together to reach them, be it a song, a riff, or the desire to move forward as a songwriter. The possibilities are only limited to what you want to know.

About Michael
Hello, my name is Michael Seward. I’m a young student who has spent a lot of my life learning and experimenting with food and music. Since a young age, I just couldn’t stop myself from pushing the envelope of what I could create in those arenas. I won’t claim to be the best at what I do but I have fun, and I am efficient in teaching you the way you want to learn. If you have a passion for creativity, I believe we will work great together.
