Ukulele Lessons in Prattsville, NY

I have been playing ukulele for four years.

The ukulele is a fun way for young or inexperienced players learn to play a string instrument without the tedious and sometimes painful process involved on a guitar or bass guitar. You can learn many skills very quickly on the ukulele, that will eventually translate to the guitar. Reading simple melodies and playing a wide range of chords that fit neatly and comfortably on the ukulele make it a fun and easy first instrument to learn. Can you say Kamakaiwaole?

Ukulele is a fairly simple instrument to learn for all ages! Have fun and just learn the basics so you can play for your friends or take it to the next level with some music theory and be a musician!
Intro to chords, tablature and simple strumming patterns, singing while playing, basic music theory and reading charts, lead sheets, and more. Lesson packages include study materials.

I work with the student to develop a curriculum based on their musical interests and my own teaching pedagogy. I strongly feel that for musicians to own their education, they must have a say in what they play. Assigning method books and mindless etudes to practice doesn't have nearly the same effect asking them "Ok, what kind of music do YOU like? What do you want to PLAY? What do you want to LEARN?".

I believe that students learn best when they are invested in a subject, and the best way to get them invested is to individually get to know each one, speak to them on their level, and get them playing music they're interested in.
