I have a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from SUNY New Paltz, so you might say I know my way around the fret board.

About Andrew
To me, music is above all about transformation. Beautiful sound transforms our experience of the environment, and learning an instrument can help students approach life as one big instrument they need to practice to master.
Learning to play an instrument is also an experience of training one’s nervous system to gradually act and respond in new ways, and that kind of persistent, focused
Last and definitely not least, playing music is fun.
*** Lesson Details ***
I plan my lessons around getting students to enjoy playing music as soon as possible, whether that means learning how to strum a chord rhythmically, playing their favorite song, or how to take a blues solo.
There are steps that have to be climbed to do more complex things and I encourage students to practice a little every day rather than for a long time once or twice a week. Developing a love of music and steady practice habits are more beneficial over the long term than practicing until your limit.
*** Studio Equipment ***
I currently have a living room space where I can teach, but it's small so it might be preferable to travel to you.
*** Travel Equipment ***
If necessary I can provide amplification, cables, and a microphone.
*** Specialties ***
Jazz, Folk, Blues, Rock, Hip-hop, Funk, Reggae.

Music is fun!!! I strive for all my students to enjoy themselves, to have a great time learning about the world of music.
I use a song-based approach to guitar playing. Armed with just a small vocabulary of chords, you can play hundreds of great songs. My students will determine the course of their lesson plan by selecting songs they want to learn. While maintaining proper technique and effective practice methods, we will learn the fundamentals of the guitar by playing the music that we love. After 6 months, you will know all the basic chords, and the fundamentals of playing a solo. As lessons progress, you also learn song structure and some basic harmonic theory so you can begin creating on your own.
*** Travel Equipment ***
The student is expected to provide his or her own guitar.
*** Specialties ***
Jazz, ear training, songwriting, theory

Although also benefiting from my general music education, my guitar experience is a bit different from my piano experience. I'm 100% self taught on guitar. I cut my teeth on Heavy Metal and Progressive Rock, and those are my strongest areas of expertise. My students generally learn from one of the standard method books (learning to read music is a must), and also learn theory, and how to construct their own songs and chord progressions.
About Erik E.
I've been teaching for 12 years and have had well over 150 different students in that time: Kids, retirees, beginner to advanced.

Guitar lessons are a fun, laid-back, and encouraging experience for anyone to pursue. My lessons are specifically designed to accomplish the goals of the student, whether it's as simple as playing along with your favorite songs, or obtaining the musical foundation to begin writing your own songs. Former students have thanked me for being laid-back, non-rigid, and down to earth. My diverse musical background lets me offer students of any genre a fast track to learning the skills they desire, and having fun along the way as well!
About Nikolas
Most of my musical experience has entailed Rock, Indie-Rock, Blues, Acoustic, Bossa Nova, and Experimental/Contemporary. If students are looking to expand into a genre which I am not necessarily familiar with, I am always able to examine and learn the material myself in order to pass along to the student.
My students always decide the curriculum and pace which they would like their lessons to held at. I make sure to break the lesson down into simp
