I wish I could give Megan ALL the stars in the world; 5 does not seem enough. She has taught my son guitar for 9 years, initially in person and, since. COVID, also on line. She has incredible patience, and immense musical knowledge, and such kindness and also boundless enthusiasm for ALL music and instruments! She is also just a great and super smart human being! She was easily able to translate her in-person experience to teaching him online, so I recommend her either way -without any hesitation! ❤️

Megan is an excellent music teacher that helped show me different ways to overcome challenges that I was having. She is very patient and kind and she worked hard to make connections with me and personalize my lessons.

I honestly think one of the best decisions of my life was deciding to take a lesson with a music teacher I found through a friend. I was nine and desperate to find a teacher who would take me seriously and help me grow as a musician. I remember first liking her Harry Potter necklace, and then being so surprised that she taught me in an hour the chords I had been trying to learn on my own for six months. Six years later, Megan has become not only my mentor, best friend, and biggest supporter, but has also modeled for me how to be a strong, confident woman in today's society. She constantly pushes me to be better, and she is always there for me whether it be for music theory questions or movie suggestions. I would not be where I am today musically, lyrically, or emotionally without Megan and her amazing lessons. I owe so so much to her and continue to learn so much from every class. She is everything I hope to be and the best teacher anyone could hope for.

My goal as an instructor is to keep the lessons fresh, fun, interesting, and to ultimately guide the students to better teach themselves as they gain experience and familiarity with the instrument and music. Students can have their lessons catered to the music and styles they wish to pursue. Lessons are tailored to each individual student so that we can build upon their strengths and focus on lessons to improve weaker areas. Students will learn how to build dexterity, use proper technique, and be creative. Every student has different goals, some really want to learn theory and read music. Others may simply want to learn to strum a few chords. Whatever the goal, I can provide the instructions to help the student succeed!

Hello! My name is Laura. I think you would love taking lessons with me- A little bit about my own background in music: my parents are musicians and music teachers as well ave been taking guitar lessons since the day I was born practically! In 2011 I started teaching private music lessons myself, teaching multiple after school music classes at local schools, and directing local band programs. After high school I attended Musician’s Institute for a degree in vocal performance and music theory. I have assisted and worked many musicians and producers. I myself have performed and played guitar in over 100 musical concerts and performances, as well as recorded and released my own music. In working with me at The Dave Curtis Music Academy, students also have access to many opportunities to play, write, and collaborate with other artists and students who also share a passion for music, as well as opportunities to participate in group/band practices and performances. I spoke to Tom about guitar lessons for my niece who is 11 Yrs old. I was concerned because she has never held a guitar before, but Tom reassured me. My niece loved the lesson and learned so much. My sister in law called me right after to tell me how professional, patient and knowledgeable Tom was. We will be pursing guitar lessons further. Thank you Tom.

"Paul is the man

I am older than your average student. I had never taken lessons before and always wanted to learn to play guitar so I went out an purchased an acoustic guitar. I tried to learn from on line as well as purchased DVD's but it just didn't feel right. There was something missing like the human touch. I had heard about Paul from a relative who gave me insight about his background and his education. I decided to give him a try.

I called the place that he was working at and booked my first lesson. He carefully went over how he was going to teach me and then patiently worked with me.

I know that I will never be as good as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck or Paul William, but to know that I can play a little is very gratifying."

"I used to take private lessons with a different school, but I have switched to Ahmad during COVID19 quarantine. He offer lessons on zoom or skype which has helped keep me occupied at home. So far I have enjoyed the experience. Ahmad has been helpful and has made interactions over video calls productive. It seems to be a good replacement to in person lessons. Looking forward to coming in and continuing lessons in person once quarantine is over."

"As a parent of one of Sandi's students years ago I can easily recommend Sandi as an excellent instructor in all things guitar drums and more. My son did very well with Sandi and she helped him move forward in a visual performing arts program in high school and win a full tuition scholarship at Berklee College of Music in Boston Mass. Sandi's many musical talents passion and ability to easily connect with kids of all ages are just a few of the things I think of when I think of Sandi's qualities as an instructor in musical instruments. I will always be grateful for her space in my son's life."

"Best teacher I've ever had, period.

I've been taking lessons with Jason for about 5 years, and it's been fantastic. Jason is super-knowledgeable about technique and music theory, and incredibly patient. His lessons have always been tailored for me, and paced to match my level so that I can still make steady progress - and (just as importantly) have fun doing it. I've gone from stumbling to understand how to play, to playing whole songs, improvising, and analyzing progressions, and it's been great the whole time.

I ask a ton of music theory questions and he is more than willing to go into detail about any topic. He'll tab out solos, explain tiny nuances of how to to play riffs, and he knows how to approach everything to ensure that you understand - and that what you learned sticks with you.

If you want to work on a song or a technique, he'll help you do that. If you want to learn music theory, or guitar maintenance, or reading music, just ask, and he'll do that. I can honestly say that I've never had a better teacher in any subject, and that's not an exaggeration."

"Ahmad brought my playing to a new level in a very short period of time. I had been stuck and not making much progress with my improvisational skills for the better part of a year when I first started lessons with him. I was impressed by his ability to quickly analyze my playing and knowledge and suggest some focus areas. After working on various intervals, I began to feel a magnetic pull in my fingers when playing. The intervals enabled me to make the connection between the licks and lines in my head and the physical fret board on the fly during improvisational sessions.

Ahmad is extremely organized. He has folders full of exercises for every topic imaginable. His exercises are clearly written with specifics on how to effectively practice them, and they progress in an incremental and logical fashion. This level of organization allows you to get the most out of your time with Ahmad. He can quickly retrieve exercises for a topic, without having to stop and think, or waste time on transcription.

I have a demanding schedule which only allows me time for lessons once a month. Even at such a low frequency, I leave every lesson with more than enough material to keep me busy. Ahmad has been very flexible working with me and changes that arise in my schedule. On top of all of this, Ahmad is a genuinely pleasant person to spend time with and I really look forward to our time together. For me, I was an intermediate player looking to get to the next step. But I'm confident that Ahmad could accelerate anyone's playing at any level."
