My first priority is to inspire and motive. Find out the students wants and needs, then tackle them head on. As we do this proper technique is a must, it is the difference between a good guitarist and a great guitarist. Music theory and understand the language of music. The better we know the language the better we can speak it. Learn songs and music is a must ...it is the reason why we play.

If you are looking for an instructor who is patient, willing to go at your pace, and answer all your questions, then, Andy is the instructor for you. I have been taking online lessons with him for over a year and have learned a lot. I always believed that you needed a skill to be able to play an instrument but I have come to learn that it takes passion, practice, and a very good teacher. I highly recommend Andy.

No better guitar teacher than Andy. I began with him when I was 10, and was able to progressive extremely because of his knowledge and methods of teaching. I am now 21 living in Paris, playing gigs and still remember and have all those sheets of scales he gave me years ago!

Anyway, hope all is well. If I ever find myself back in Dallas I will make sure to give you a call.

I've been teaching guitar for half a decade both privately and through schools. My goals as a teacher are to impart both a thorough understanding of the instrument as well as love for music to my students. I do this by making my lessons fun and tailoring them to each student's interests and skill level. My approach is simple: if my student walks away understanding the material present, I've done my job. If this means I have to explain it in 19 different ways, then so be it!

About Josh
Hi, there! My name is Josh and I can't wait to meet you! I have been teaching classical and electric guitar for about 9 years and I structure my lessons according to a student's goals, and objectives on the instrument. My students have been able to learn tunes by ear, and understand chord progressions and structures, and play with a pick or finger style!
I specialize in rock, metal, classical and jazz, and I can also teach extended range guitars and alternate tunings. Learn to shred, sweep, alternate pick and hybrid pick like no one's business!

About Poh Hock
Hi! My name is Poh Hock. I have been playing music for at least 20 years and I have been teaching the guitar for about 9 years now. I provide lessons at your home, my studio and online!

I have a very hands-on approach to teaching and I believe that students should have fun while learning. I also do not teach based on a book unless requested and my lessons are tailored according to a student's needs, personality and goals.

I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2013 with a degree in Music Performance and I am also a certified Yamaha Classical Guitar teacher. I currently play guitar with Metal Blade artist, Native Construct.

Poh Hock is a great teacher that really has a passion for playing and teaching guitar. His style of teaching is very precise and methodical. I learned a lot of songs taking lessons with him but more importantly Poh Hock taught me how to practice material that I was working on. The lessons were really more like guided practice sessions. While some teachers that I've had might just use the lesson to teach material and have me practice over the week, Poh Hock used lesson time to really drill sections and get them to sound good. I absolutely recommend Poh Hock as a teacher for anyone who seriously wants to improve their playing and their approach to music in general.

When I heard that the lead guitarist for one of my favorite bands, Native Construct, was offering lessons, I knew I had to give it a try. Having had only a year of experience beforehand, my skills were shaky to say the least. I've taken weekly .lessons for a few months and have seen a marked improvement in my fundamental skills. Not only does Poh Hock create a great learning environment, but he also creates a very relaxed one. If I didn't improve as much as he thought I should've over the course of a week, he didn't get on me about practicing more. Instead, he worked with me to determine where I was struggling and then would help me overcome it. I really can't recommend Poh Hock enough.

I have been teaching Rock, Jazz, Classical, Folk and just about any other kind of guitar lessons you can think of since 1998. I have a degree in Jazz Performance and also have an extensive background in music theory, ear training and music technology. I work as a freelance musician and private teacher in the United States as well as Europe. As a teacher I pride myself on being prepared and patient.

About Matt
I am a professional jazz guitarist, singer-songwriter and teacher. I've been teaching music to students of all ages privately and in groups since 1998. After graduating from William Paterson University with a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Performance I spent 10 years in New York City working as a freelance musician and operating my own guitar studio. Since that time I have also been affiliated with several teaching studios, private schools, public schools and international schools. With a comprehensive background in Jazz, Classical and Rock guitar as well as electric bass, piano, music theory and voice; I am uniquely qualified to teach students of all ages and levels.

As a teacher, I think it’s most important to provide my students with a well rounded musical education that focuses on and adapts to what they are interested in lea
rning. Music lessons should be fun and I always keep that as my number one priority while also making sure that my students are getting a solid musical education that they will be happy with now and in the future. I pride myself on being patient, enthusiastic, empathetic and always prepared. I’m familiar with all of the most popular methods and have also created a large library of my own teaching materials.

During my career, I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to teach several different populations in the US, Greece and Germany. These diverse experiences have been extremely challenging and helped make me into a stronger teacher. From 2001-2003 I taught at the Center for Individualized Training and Education(CITE) which is a special needs school in Providence, RI. At CITE, I worked with students ages 6-17 and learned a lot about how to use music to bring joy to students who are not necessarily able to engage in a traditional musical education. In 2016, I created a music program in Athens, Greece for refugee children seeking asylum. I worked in conjunction with the School Box Organization to raise money for instruments, and taught guitar and hand drum classes at a school they had set up in a refugee squat. Although I'm no longer at the school, I am still helping to oversee the program and plan to do more of this work in the future. During my time in New York City, I worked with kids attending some of the most exclusive private schools in the country and dealt with the challenge of fitting music into an extremely demanding and high pressure educational environment. All of these experiences have helped shape my teaching philosophy as well as my views on life and music. I am currently teaching students in Boston as well as online lessons in Canada, Europe and the US.

I've had a lot of music teachers over the years but Matt stood out in his ability to provide organized and interesting teaching sessions which are well prepared for in advance and always entertaining. My focus as a guitar teacher is to give you the tools that can help you be the musician you want to be. I'm dedicated to ensuring that what you learn in my lessons will go towards practical use and composing music that is meaningful to you.

About Kian
Hi! I'm a Boston-based composer, performer and educator from Gibraltar whose recent concert works explore the intersections of traditional and graphic notations, indeterminacy (improvisation) and colour.

I began playing guitar at the age of 12 and developed a quick affinity towards music. In 2014 I was accepted to Berklee college of music and graduated with a degree in Composition in 2018. During my time at Berklee I studied guitar with Freddie Bryant and Rick Peckham, composition with Andrew List, Marti Epstein and Tamar Diesendruck and ensemble work with Simon Shaheen and Ned Rothenberg. As an active member of the Berklee community I was a peer advisor and orientation leader, member and later co-chairperson of SAAVE (student allies in anti-violence education) and a peer health educator at the Berklee Health and Wellness department.
In 2018, due to my dedication to social justice and health, I received the Berklee Health and Wellness leadership award.

I began composing for guitar in 2014 and later started writing for chamber ensembles and orchestra. My concert works have been performed and workshopped by a variety of performers at Berklee College of Music as well as highly-established and reputable ensembles such as the MIVOS quartet, Loadbang and String noise.

In 2018, my composition “Consciousness” String Quartet No.1 (2017) recieved the Bill Maloof award from the Berklee Composition Department and was featured on the annual Professional Writing Departments CD.

I continue to reside in Boston, MA, pursuing teaching opportunities and continuing to perform and compose.

Welcome! I'm a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter in East Boston. I teach a wide range of skills, including piano, guitar, mandolin, singing, songwriting, and music recording / production. All ages and levels are welcome! Whether you're just starting out or looking to sharpen existing skills, you'll be surprised how fast you can improve. All ages and levels are welcome! Whether you're just starting out or looking to sharpen existing skills, you'll be surprised how fast you can improve. I teach music that you care about, whether that's Hamilton or Taylor Swift or the Undertale soundtrack or your own song ideas. Come see what you can accomplish!

I base my teaching on the three pillars of music learning:

Enthusiasm -- you learn best when you care about what you're learning. I don't use a one-size-fits-all curriculum; I help you learn the music you love, no matter what it is. Ever wanted to play Zelda songs on a real ocarina? Let's make it happen!

Confidence -- the most valuable
thing you can have as a musician isn't virtuosic technique, it's comfort and confidence in your own skills. That confidence opens the door to deeper musical expression that connects with listeners, and it is possible at every level. I write custom song arrangements for you so you can feel good about sharing music with others, no matter where you're starting from.

Growth -- every song has something to teach you, but when you're starting out it's hard to know where to focus. I write exercises targeted to your specific skills, so you can start improving right away!

If you want to know more I'd love to hear from you. Adult beginners welcome!
