I start many children ukulele initially, whose hands and bodies are too small to begin guitar. We can build on their knowledge and musical journey keeping both instruments in mind (not necessary however) as they grow and mature into guitar. Taking up Ukulele was a great way to look at music from a new perspective. I love teaching ukulele to younger kids who cannot make chords on a guitar quite yet as well as adults who are serious musicians that have been playing for years. I welcome everyone from the novice to the hobbyist and do my best work with student requests.

My name is Jerry. I LOVE music and passing my knowledge on to others. I have played many different instruments in many different kinds of bands. It all one major thing in common, it was FUN! If you are not having fun while learning an instrument you won't want to learn. Lessons can be fun AND educational at the same time. I have had many parents tell me I'm one of the best teachers they have ever seen. (A couple of them were public school teachers themselves). I truly want my students to succeed and I will do everything in my power to help them accomplish that!

The Uke is growing in popularity because of it's ease of playing and how much fun it is to play. A great starter instrument to branch onto guitar later on or a unique instrument to master. I can help you master the Uke and have a lot of fun doing it.

The goal I have for my students is that they will fall in love with music. From the beginning my students will develop skills in :

I primarily focus on popular music styles, but I do offer a classical focus if the student has interests in that realm. I primarily teach via the discovery method; Which makes learning more active so that the students grasp concepts more effectively and develop the ability to learn independently.

I understand that every student's interests, goals and learning styles vary. As an instructor I teach accordingly with custom made lesson plans that cater to who you are as a student. Whether you are studying to pursue therapeutic/recreational goals or studying to pursue professional endeavors I will help you get there.
