Oh boy, do I love the Ukulele! This instrument is FUN. I became passionate about the ukulele a few years ago.This instrument is fun. We will learn our chords, learn a lot of unique strumming patters and work on our rhythm. We will also learn how to take some classic rock and roll guitar songs and turn them into happy-go-lucky-uke tunes!
This instrument is PERFECT for beginners - adults and children!

Private Ukulele Teacher

The Uke is such a unique and fun instrument to play. Plus, it is probably the most accessible instrument I have ever taught. It’s great for those who can’t quite get the hang of guitar. It helps build strength and rhythm that carries over directly to the guitar and other stringed instruments.
One of my favorite things to do is play duets with students, and the ukulele makes for some interesting pairings of instruments.

I searched for an excellent upright bass teacher for a good while. Then I found David Lloyd. David is patient, humorous, friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. He carefully taught me all the necessary groundwork to enable me to continue on my own for a while. In a few months I will, without question, continue my studies with David. Ukulele is a newer instrument to me, but I have been teaching and performing for over 8 years now. I have played music since age 5 starting with violin and later guitar, which I studied at Berklee College of Music. Uke became a recent passion as I formed an acoustic duo of cello and ukulele (and singing) called DvOd that has performed all over the NW and released a CD. I provide a core curriculum of basic technique and music knowledge, combined with customizing to the student's interest.
